We don’t really have any reality to compare fictional examples to.
True but then what questions arise from when you really think about what if someone had a dimension? Like just ask any question. Try to think of things that make it ilogial or complicated

Well, in so far as the Sandman (DC) was concerned, his body, the part that interacts with others and the world, is really just an avatar, and his true essence is contained in his personal dimension. I would suppose that he can sense what is happening there much the same way we can track what is happening with our bodies —we have special senses for that.
Just from five seconds considering it...
Part 1 - what it takes to conquer a universe.
At the least, I'll expect them to have serious power under their belt (personal/physical and/or magical and/or military) for the conquest itself, a travel method to access these distant places, and a means of gaining long-term loyalty from their new subjects there.
Some form of extended lifespan or even full-blown immortality would also be useful here, to help the DL actually get somewhere on their goal. Otherwise, they'd likely die early.
Part 2 - what it takes to rule a conquered universe.
It is convenient to have a crapload of administrative divisions within the sovereign state, and many regents; split the burdens. As it goes, no man rules alone.
A chain of the DL -> a world leader and assistants -> a country leader and assistants -> a city leader and assistants, with the ranks modified to suit the situation.
So to summarize — a "realistic" Dimension Lord would be a Physical God at the helm of a pretty big government that keeps the state stable and cohesive.
Part 3 - what they get out of all this. This is probably the neat part — the perks.
As ruler of an entire dimension, it goes without saying that they would have functionally infinite resources. Again assuming a universe like ours...
Each planet could conservatively yield a million soldiers for their armies; easily more, but let's stay with one million for easy operation/multiplying.
Their realm could also easily have a lot of rapid tech-development, due to their vast resources and legions of researchers (all sorts) from many worlds. Add to that literal trillions of production plants for anything and everything...
Bottom line, it "should" be well with a competent Dimension Lord's reach to have literally anything they can dream up.
So a god-king of "all" reality then. With all the divinity it would entail?
I would say that one way to do it is to have the actual person be effectively an avatar/puppet that the dimension itself uses to interact with visitors/residents. Most likely that would mean that “killing” the dimension lord wouldn’t really make any difference, at least not permanently, because they could just make a new body to replace that one.

that that takes Genius Loci to a whole new dimension
I was thinking about the trope from say Sandman where a character both is the king and is/represents a dimension and worldbuilding issues that this would have
Ex: how would they know what is happening in ther dimension.
The trope of dimension conqueror points the reality ensue of having enough troops and etc to holding into a captured planet not to say universe
What are your toughts?
