Same here.
John is an acquired taste but dangerous habit forming.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. It feels so weird looking back on the movie because that's pretty where most people have heard of him
New theme music also a boxAlso the TV show(s).
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I've heard of them and the movie was apparently a million times better
New theme music also a boxMatt Ryan is a fantastic Constantine despite not being remotely London-ish.
However, Keanu's movie isn't BAD. It's just a softpedaled version of Hellblazer and Keanu is so definitively American that you can't say he's Constantine.
Both have their better qualities.
I'd say the best version would be the animated John Constantine movies with Matt Ryan.
I also do really enjoy the Keanu movie.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. So I got to the part where Constantine has a demon blood transfusion, and later on he has sex with someone so they can't get impregnated by an Angel
New theme music also a boxJamie Delano was evidently really into “free love” and hippie communes and related lifestyles; it comes up in his Animal Man run too.
unrelated but the best scene so far is when Swamp thing turns up at his house and literally picks up him up by the collar

New theme music also a boxJohn is a genuine British punk character so Heaven is evil, Hell is worse.
And John isn't much of a hero himself.

he's like..the very definition of an anti hero
New theme music also a boxFinished 'Original Sins' a few days ago' and am now hunting for more decent Constantine comics
recommendations would be welcome!
New theme music also a boxHonestly, just getting the collections won't steer you wrong. The original comics are John at his best before he got weird(er).

This is Linkara's fault because the premise of 'Dangerous Habits' intrigued me enough to order a copy
So yeah, probably the first horror comic I've read, and I'm wondering if anyone else was inspired by Linkara's review to seek out a copy?
