Glad to hear Cullen back as Optimus. Not sure about the premise of this just yet.

Apparently it's Ron Perlman. I too would've preferred Kaye, but not a bad choice.

No, Perlman's playing Optimus Primal. There's no actor listed for BW Megs yet.

I don't think this film will have Beast!Megatron. The main villain has been confirmed to be Scourge (although, I don't think he's based on any particular Scourge) and he'll be voiced by Peter Dinklage.

Scourge transforms into a sinister truck, so I'm thinking he's partially based on RID Scourge.

Oh misunderstood that statement, I was thinking of the Gary Chalk...

Anyway, it looks fine, but not gonna lie, it's giving me big bayformer vibe. Like, the best parts of Bumblebee were the girl meets robot story, not like, the decepticon fight. This feels like a step back.

I hope it's decent, time will tell.

It was never just going to be Bumblebee again. These are primarily action movies, but I'm optimistic that said action is going to be a lot punchier and easier to follow than the Bay movies were—keeping up with the distinctive, cohesive character designs that Bumblebee had is a good sign.

I'm curious if the movie will incorporate some of the Transformers Animated interpretations for Blackarachnia and Waspinator.

I watched a little Beast Wars back in the day, weren't they from a completely different time period in that show? I wonder if they'll keep that somehow or avoid time travel hijinks and just have there be three or four transformers factions.

I'm not seeing Hailee Steinfeld in the cast which is a disappointment.

The original Beast Wars cartoon only works if they kept the original G1 backstory. Namely that Autobots and Decepticons have been in stasis for 4 millions prior to present day.

Any Transformers continuity that features the Transformers just arriving in present day would have to reinvent the Beast Wars characters.

I'm glad they're keeping the simplified designs that are more in keeping with the OG 'bots, as well as keeping the scaled-down size that Bumblebee had gone with. The Bayverse bots always seemed way too large for me. Also seeing Primal on the big screen is going to be hype. His 'bot form looks rad as hell, and seeing Cheetor and Bumblebee together has my inner six-year-old giddy. Where's my boy Rattrap, though? They better not cut out the best Maximal out of this film.

Kinda strange to use a kind low level Decepticon. Wonder if Scourage is an emissary of Megatron. Or their pulling a twist and hell appear later.

I like that Jazz finally got his original vehicle mode back. It's obviously not the rally version, but that's ok.

They seem to have most of the Maximal cast: Primal and Cheetor obviously, but I believe we also saw Rhinox and maybe Air-Razor. Now I wonder if Rat-Trap and Tigatron will make it as well.

That's Mirage, hence the holograms. And there have been toys of Airazor, so we know for sure that she's in, at least.

Yeah. I just found that out when checking out the General Transformers thread.

Now that I think about it, it even has Mirage's colours. Strange choice, but there you go.

Edit: Also, any thoughts on if we'll see any returning characters from Bumblebee?

Maybe Charlie comes back, or Agent Burns? The Autobots are going to be much more in the public spotlight this time and the Government has known about them for years at this point, so I'd be surprised if they didn't try to get involved.

I'd be disappointed if we don't find out what is happening/has happened to Charlie but I don't expect Steinfeld back in the role as 1. She's probably tied up with other stuff and 2. Timing wise in universe you could probably get away with recasting.

We, the people, demand Waspinator.

And Dinobot. Got to have Dinobot.

Apropos of nothing, Wheeljack had better not have that stupid Einstein head like in DoTM.

Well if his appearance in the Cybertron scene of Bumblebee is any consolation, he definitely doesn't have it. Seeing as almost everyone else is a lot closer to their OG looks, I can't see them suddenly thinking that giving Wheeljack that stupid head from DOTM is a good idea.
