Yeah, but in my experience, the stuff people like about it are generally the stuff that feels distinctly non-Avengers in vibe and relation. Certainly that's my feelings about it.
I've read a lot of Avengers and they have plenty of fucked up drama and quirks. Pre-Disassembled I don't find them like the Justice League at all. So much Avengers plot driven by Wanda/Vision or Pym drama.
Rather than feeling like a different world from the rest of Marvel, the Avengers have always felt like the awkward crossroads, touching every part of the verse a little. So often having to deal with other teams' business spilling over.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersPoor Wanda. Doomed to either go mad and be killed or lash out at people treating her like crap only to be killed.
At least her sons are basically gods. Well Billy anyways.m if I remember right.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. The comparison is JL is funny in hindsight too since while they work with the government, they are still an independent force. But yeah back in the 90's X-Men and FF were more of the forefront team in Marvel than Avengers.
Billy isn't quite a god yet, but he is destined to become one assuming nothing goes wrong on that front. In fact, he's specifically going to be the next Demiurge, a cosmic entity in charge of making gods.
It feels like an issue where writers want a government supergroup to fight the hero, but because there is no powerful group of government superhumans they settle on using the Avengers.
Which really should start enforcing a group of evil government guys to use as attack-dogs for these kinds of stories like the Squadron Supreme.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Or a new Freedom Force. Or a new X-Factor, I guess.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWhich is funny because I swear Marvel has a bunch of government sponsored hero teams.
It's the big name guest-star issue, where you take recognizable names as the greater precedent.
Like if you want a knife-wiedling berserker X-Men guest-starring whose more likely to get used, Wolverine or Warpath?

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Warpath, easily. Wolverinamania is dead, LONG LIVE WARPATH.
Robin: Don't ever ask me to dock with you again. Serious...I know that it's been said "One Man's Worth" is important for "Tolerance is Extinction", most likely due to Bastion being, at least, in part, Nimrod, who was last seen in the former, but I did get to thinking about another thing possibly related to that: we just saw Captain America and we know the Avengers exist in this universe — and a warped version of them was in part 1 of "One Man's Worth". I do wonder if, as a contrast, we'll see the Avengers pop up and help the X-Men.

Troper Wall — DeviantArtThe Proudstar brothers are pretty cool.
Crazy to think Thunderbird was only killed off cause they thought having both him and Wolverine around was redundant.
It could have easily been Logan who died instead.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I just realized this show was Marvel's Andor that we were hoping for.
Pantheon server for all who click here. Freaking lost $410 and I am hunting down for a nuke to reign down.Despite The Gifted lasting a short while, Thunderbird there still made a great impression.
How so…?
Incredibly well put-together show for the Marvel brand that was long overdue in drumming up excitement for the return of the X-Men being a very significant thing again, gaining massive plaudits for being far better than anyone could have ever hoped for it to be?
Robin: Don't ever ask me to dock with you again. Serious...I wouldn't go that far. It's too colourful and grand.

I think they meant in terms of positive fan reception, not it's tone and themes.
Not sure that fits either considering how Balkanized the Star Wars fandom is in comparison.
Man can you not bring your Andor wonk to a thread that’s not even about Star Wars?
Anyway yeah compared to say Zootopia or Beastars, X-Men is directly analoging oppressed groups.
Do you reckon it's only prime sentinels that are vulnerable to EMP? Maybe because of the switch to nanotech? I mean it would be a big unused flaw in the bigger models especially when they regularly fight the Master of Magnetism.
Maybe why Bastion captured Mags first?
What'd you expect? Black Leather?
Going to have to add an asterisk to Avengers being considered "Hickman's weakest work".
Its plenty popular by its own merits and features several popular aspects especially the Secret War finale.
