The scene orderings are a little different, along with the inclusion of Storm in the title cards.
That being said, there aren't new scenes this time, hence the sense of deja vu.
So what's the consensus on how Cap was written in this episode?
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"It's not identical last week didn't had Morph vs Sinister for example but I do think this is the first time where we haven't gotten any new scenes in the opening.
I can't speak to consensus but he's fine? It's not a Cap or Avengers series. So he's not particularly helpful. He's sympathetic but hewing to optics and Lawfulness over goodness, so to speak but he's not a dick.

Cap's written perfectly well. He's clearly wanting to help and to do more, but his hands are tied by politics he has to play along with and a lack of key intel. He's obviously sympathetic to Rogue's feelings and trauma while also being bluntly honest that her flying off the handle like she is isn't helping things. If anything, he shows a lot of patience with someone who's basically taking her grief and anger out on everyone in sight, regardless of their guilt; most people wouldn't have kept their mouths shut at Rogue being a petty bitch and ripping his shield away than throwing it into the horizon just because Steve dared to tell her something she didn't want to hear.
I actually think that scene might be setting up the Cap/Rogue friendship that eventually develops in the comics, which would be great as the two have a really nice dynamic there with Steve as kind of the fatherly commander to Rogue's reckless soldier.
Maybe, but for some people, that might hew too close to the Avengers role of basically being The Man, coming into conflict with the X-Men while working for the Government who allowed this shit to happen.
Plus, a lot of people are obviously going to sympathize with Rogue, no matter how much it seems Cap wants to help.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah, I think he was written pretty well for role he needed to play. He is clearly sympathetic to Rogue and mutants, but it is more lawful version of Cap.
I don’t think Sublime I to high concept for show which aside from mutant racism already has aliens, magic and demons. Cassandra I could see changing somehow like making her clone simmiliar to Madeline. Agree that there is no place for them this season, but woudn’t discount future ones.
Edit: You know, I stand by idea that giving Charles evil twin would be weird, esspecaly after so long, but remember how much of soap opera X men already is and how show embraced that aspect. I totally could see them just doing Cassandra and having her be Evil Twin.

That's exactly what I meant by my post, I should've made that clearer. They could show up as the antagonists of subsequent seasons, but I wouldn't bet on them showing up for this one, since it's already got so much going on and is obviously building up to Bastion as the final boss of the season. I could easily see Sublime being the Big Bad for a future season. Cassandra, I'm more iffy on, again, largely because her role has seemingly been transferred to Sinister and Bastion, so she arguably wouldn't have as much to do. But as you say, they could rework her to make her work.

btw, it appears someone called Bastion appearing about a week or two ago because in Forge's house there is a cut off image of him and Bastion you cant see his face or skin, but his outfit is exactly the same's. Since I've been catching up, I know that Forge is also a character in the Bad Future, and made a protoype that led to the collars being made, so its very possible he may know about Bastion and OZT as well.
I really hope that The Cap being back isnt an indicator that this is another universe parallel to the original. Or be used by angry antiwokers to discredit this being a sequel to the original.
Pantheon server for all who click here. Freaking lost $410 and I am hunting down for a nuke to reign down. That would be cool, they could even introduce a version of the Unity team.
The comics have at least tried to avoid this in recent years, with the Avengers even going after Orchis in recent books.

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"We know Havok exists in this timeline.
Scarlet Witch as well (and without No More Mutants to bugger things up).
It wouldn't be difficult to introduce some of the other key players of that particular Avengers team either.
One Strip! One Strip! If they're going to mix and match Uncanny Avengers rosters, Sunfire, Quicksilver and Psylocke also appeared in this show and Deadpool has cameo'd as 1 of Morph's forms as well as in a mental probe in Sabertooth.
Also this isn't the first time Cap appeared in X-Men. He was in that post-script season ep where he and Wolvie teamed up.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life. What a coincidence I actually finished that one recently
With 97 bringing back older designs I'm reminded how interesting costume evolution is, especially in the case of robots
Such as thr Sentinels who start out with simple designs so they look less like robots and more like guys in suits and leotards
Modern more complex designs make them more robotic and downplay the leotard/underwear look
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Okay, one thing has been bugging me with some of the recasts, I admit it might be silly, and it's something that likewise bugged with with a couple of the recasts in Transformers: Devastation: some of the actors who didn't come back (at all) are still alive and active.
No offense to Courtenay Taylor, David Errigo Jr., or Josh Keaton, but Tara Strong, Richard Epcar John Stocker and both David Hayter and, as we've seen in the show itself, Lawrence Bayne are still active. Granted, in the case of some of them, it could be age, but Strong came back to voice Magik in Marvel Heroes and Epcar's voice hasn't changed that much over the years, so those two could have easily come back.
Like I said, maybe in the case of Stocker and Leech, Hayter and Bayne as Cap, they've aged too much (a criticism I've seen lobbed about Julie Newmar in the two animated movies that tied into the '60s Batman show and even as Martha Wayne in Batman: TBatB, and I think I've read that's why Catherine Disher isn't back as Jean in this show).

Troper Wall — DeviantArtIt just dawned to me how unique design the Capcom Sentinel is. It didn't look like the cartoon Sentinels.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.×2
Mv C 3 even gives that Sentinel it's own model number, COTA-94.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Speaking of Cap, I liked that him throwing his shield wasn’t a warning shot. Those tend to be him bouncing his shield off something near a person. He wanted Rogue to know he wasn’t here to throw hands so he threw his shield down where she could grab it.
And then she threw it a mile away in a fit of pique but it worked really well until that point.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI feel Cap's role was played out pretty well. The argument presented basically ensured neither character was fully in the right or in the wrong.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireOh, that's a really nice explanation of it. I'd noticed he was calmly letting her carry it around while they talked. I hadn't thought he was doing it deliberately but yeah if it was a warning he'd have boomeranged it back so he could use it again, wouldn't he?
I hope He's got a tracker on that thing though. Ouch. lol.

Is it just me, or would it have more in character for Cap to just...change outfits and help Rogue anyway?
Searching for meaning in meanings
Speaking of the intro, wasn't this one the same as last time's? I think it's the only time so far they've been identical.
