This...this is for real?
Like, I clicked the link, but it's still kinda hard to believe.
Wow. Cal Dodd? The dude who was Wolverine before Steve Blum pretty much took ownership of the role. That's gonna be weird.
They totally need some cameos from other X-men Voice actors too. It'd be great.
One Strip! One Strip!FYI, this is the project Sofia Alexander, creator of Onyx Equinox, is working on.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Seeing this show but well animated and with violence allowed is gonna feel weird. Awesome, but weird.
Still can't believe it's really happening. Always thought it'd be a hypothetical scenario, but...wow. They really did it.
(NOW WHERE'S OUR AVENGERS: EARTH'S MIGHTIEST HEROES CONTINUATION, MARVEL?)
That...should be interesting but I can't see it working. It will be like those X-men 97 comics.
X-Men TAS was in many a product of its time. It was a little weird, a little hammy, a little overdramatic a little insane in its dedication to faithfully adapt all of convoluted X-Men's lore but I'll be damned if all of this somehow didn't work.
They just don't make like that anymore. It's like trying to make a sequel to Christopher Reeve Superman these days. They will put the modern style of writing and storytelling and it just won't be the same.
Interestingly, this series is still coming to us from Marvel Studios, despite not having any MCU ties. (Sofia's bio and this series' logo confirm that.)
If anything, it might be a good indication that Marvel Studios might branch out of doing MCU-only spin-offs for their animated content.
This probably bodes an interesting direction for the upcoming Marvel Zombies series, which is also animated and sporting its comic book logo.

That's it, nostalgia has gone too far. X-Men has half a century worth of stories, what pathetic fuck wants to see a continuation of an adaptation of a section of the X-Men that's three decades old?
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.
Raises hand
I mean, you're not totally wrong. This is Nostalgia bait. Now, that doesn't mean it can't be well made Nostalgia bait. The quality is exclusive from the reason it exists.
We'll have to wait and see how this goes, since a lot of these revivals have been hit or miss.
One Strip! One Strip!Also me.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Also that era was the last time X-Men was any good.
(Evolution and Wolverine and The X-Men were also better than the comics produced at the time)

x5: I would also like to see where this goes, if only because I thought them bringing back the X-Men cartoon from 1993 was one of those "would be nice to bring it back, but alas" scenarios.
Moreover, if this really takes off and Marvel Studios decides to go further and make a continuation for Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, then THAT will make me drop everything and get a Disney+ account in a heartbeat. I'd go full-on "shut up and take my money" and everything just to see EMH be resurrected!

That'd be great. I think the only series we won't ever see any kind of revival for is The Spectacular Spiderman, considering Sony is still holding a death grip, even if Marvel has the animation rights.
One Strip! One Strip!Spiderman freshman year kinda killed any chance of that revving at least for now.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Yeah. I know.
And I won't lie. I'm sick of saying the show shouldn't have been cancelled. It's been over 10 years now.
I'm sure all of you are sick of it being brought up (probably by me) as well.
....I actually need to stop that. It's hard though.
One Strip! One Strip!Sofia Alexander is working on the show.

The names of the crew members are trickling down steadily!
Jeremy Polgar, whose references include The Cuphead Show, Centaurworld, Thundercats Roar, OK KO!, Teen Titans GO!, Samurai Jack, Motorcity, Space Dandy, and Superjail confirmed he's on X-Men '97 as animation supervisor!
(Holy jeebus, that's a lot of varied references...)

oh fiiine
-raises Tentacle-
I did NOT see this one coming,be interesting to see how far this goes
New theme music also a boxTone down the aggression. I haven't even watched the original 90's cartoon and I'm kind of interested in this.
As someone who has fond memories of X-Men:TAS and very mixed feelings on the current direction of X-Men comics, I am also interested.
I am on record as greatly disliking most X-books in the last 5 years or so, so I welcome a return to the last period when the X-men weren't either terrible or so chaotic it's impossible to follow.
Plus it would be cool to see what they'd with the various plotlines or villains they have introduced since then like Sublime or Krakoa.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Wow! For real? I loved X-Men: The Animated Series growing up and it was a surprise to hear that they are reviving the series! Can't wait to see it!
