Adapted from the webnovel of the same name by one TurtleMe, it follows the second life of King Grey, who died and was reborn as Arthur Leywin in a different fantasy world.

It has magic, it has Humans, Elves and Dwarves, it has dungeons and dragons, all the usual paraphernalia. But also a lovely artstyle by Fuyuki23 and a hero who’s not quite as flawless as he lets on.

I discovered this series by literally becoming its official translator and at this point (chapter 120 on Tapas) I enjoy it quite a bit I must say, so I might as well have a place to discuss it.

Webnovel readers, please refrain from spoilers. =O

Nice. A bit slow paced, but the story and the world have enough going on to keep my interest. The art is somewhat manga-esque, as it were, but I like the unconventional panel layout, esp. the long ones that segue from one scene into another.

It is indeed pretty good at that. My only complaint on the art would be that the background characters often look… cheap? Like they don’t belong in the same series sometimes…

Regarding the latest chaps, I wish we had seen more of Alea before her death, or at least have her interact with Arthur more than once. The scene is still gut-wrenching, but it all feels so sudden. =[

Otherwise I’m a bit worried as to what will ensue from Lucas (probably) realizing that Arthur was Note all along. At least I don’t think he’s dumb enough to not have noticed by now.

Chapter 121 is out, and we meet the Human Supremacist evil organization, because of course there is one. tongue Looks like the Elderwood Guardian isn’t kind to Tessia either.

Still, I hope we’ll learn a bit more about Lucas’ past or that he’ll have some development to make him slightly less cartoonishly evil.

As for Elijah, my headcanon so far is that he tries so hard to get girls to hide something, but I doubt this series will delve in such topics.

Chapter 136… Yikes. I didn’t expect things to go this south this quickly. Let alone a teenage character to be decapitated. Almost lost my apetite there.

Though I probably should have suspected it after those heartwarming chapters showing us how much Tessia loved and was loved by her family. Yeah, of course something horrible was gonna happen.

…You know, as cathartic as Lucas’ gruesome death was, I feel like it’s a shame he’s gone so soon. There was a lot of potential for interesting character development with this guy. Maybe we’ll learn more about him posthumously though, I don’t know…

As for Arthur being imprisonned, I suspect it has more to do with Sylvie than with his actions… The Kings just learned there was a freaking dragon alive on Dicathen, that’s gotta pique their interest.

Chapter 144… Okay, I found the Dwarf King weirdly unreasonable last chapter, but I didn’t expect him to be this much of an asshole. King Glayder is hardly better in that regard.

I thought the Council was simply afraid of Arthur, but I didn’t expect them to be actively working for the enemy. Makes you wonder why "he" didn’t approach Alduin and Merial… maybe they’re too hard to corrupt?

Huh… so the other deities aren’t just gonna sit there quietly while Agrona starts a war, huh. Farewell, Greysunders, you will not be missed.

So… Olfred and Mica are gonna lose their power without the oath, I suppose?

…Okay, Bairon being constantly interrupted or worfed is becoming a running gag at this point. evil grin The poor guy can’t get his moment to shine.

Ah well, it seems we’re finally getting to that Epheotus training arc. I can’t help but find it funny that everyone treats the summary execution of a king and his wife as a minor incident because that’s literally what it is to the Asuras.

Chapter 149… So the truth is out, huh.

I admit, I thought his parents would just be surprised, but I had not considered the full implications of Arthur "replacing" the son Alice and Rey should have had. Or of the son you’ve raised for 13 years suddenly becoming a complete stranger. Of fucking course they wouldn’t just be "surprised", a reveal like that would shatter their whole world…

Okay, considering Arthur is quite literally an Avatar, is it a coincidence that he’s now training with an Aang look-alike? evil grin

I gotta admit, Arthur wracking his brains to master a super advanced skill to catch the squirrels while Windsom is like "Dude, what the fuck are you doing? You just have to stand there with some bait in your hand, that’s it"… That cracked me up. [lol] Arthur really has a knack for making things needlessly difficult for himself, huh.

And then there’s his legendary bad luck to stumble a super powerful and super rare parasite during what should have been a relatively relaxed training. That happens weirdly often too.

We have some news about the webcomic! Season 6 will start around spring, meanwhile we’ll get a 10-chapter spin-off on Jasmine.

…And boy, no disrespect to Turtle and Fuyuki but the writing and art are noticeably better than usual in this chapter. >.>
