Character-Specific Pages (CSPs) are created when individual characters have so many trope examples that they can't reasonably be included on a shared page.
The Administrivia Character-Specific Pages policy details the rules that apply to these pages. All Character-Specific Pages must also follow the basic How to Create a Character Page policy, as well as the wiki's more general policies about spoilers and examples.
This cleanup thread handles the following tasks:
- Reviewing and approving new CSP proposals. All new potential CSPs must be reviewed and, if necessary, cleaned up before they're created.
- Agreeing on page names for new CSPs.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a new CSP is created.
- Reviewing existing CSPs if there's a concern that they need cleanup, or if it's believed that the character may no longer qualify for a page.
- Merging existing CSPs into other character pages when necessary.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a CSP is removed/merged.
- Creating, updating and cutting redirects, as necessary, to reflect these splits and merges.
Crowners are not normally required but, where appropriate, can be used to formalise decisions on any of these points.
If a character no longer qualifies for a CSP, it's often more practical to turn the CSP into a redirect than to cut the page entirely. This keeps the page history visible to users, and also helps to steer offsite 'inbound' traffic (search engine results) to the right place. With that in mind, cut requests for CSPs may be declined and referred to this thread if they don't have a clear consensus.
Comments linking back to this thread can be added to CSPs when needed - e.g. to confirm their creation was approved, to warn tropers that a cleanup is in progress, or to note the date and outcome of a more recent review.

Mod update 07 Mar 2024, reflecting new CSP policy, updated again 22 Mar 2024 to mention redirects for removed CSPs
- Other options must have been tried first, like splitting pages into further groups.
- The character's folder is cleaned up beforehand, fixing any Zero-Context Examples and Wall of Text entries and removing any outdated, misused, or non-character tropes.
- A character's folder is at least 6,000 words/40,000 characters (with spaces). Here is a byte counter.note
- The current character page bypasses technical limitations and requires a split up.
- A single character takes up the majority of a page or is disproportionately bigger than other folders.
Splitting a character into their own page is a major change and needs to be run by the community before it is enacted. Even if you believe a character meets these requirements, they should be run through this thread first. Having other tropers take a look can help spot issues you may not notice or believe to be issues.
Per How to Create a Character Page, character-specific pages should only include tropes that describe the character. These tropes should fall under Characterization Tropes or one of its related indexes, unless they're recurring character traits (distinctive things that the character does repeatedly). If you're unsure what counts as a character trope, you can ask the Are these Character Tropes? thread.
If you have concerns with a general character page, they have their own separate cleanup thread, as do the self-demonstrating character pages.

Since he's not technically really part of "I.M.P's family" and can't be sorted anywhere else besides misc, and he was clogging up most of the "others" page's space, I guess he can get his own page.

What should be done With Hellblazer – John Constantine? He's only at 40,292 characters, and until recently Hellblazer didn't have a character page. Should he be moved to Characters.Hellblazer, or should a Characters.Constantine page made?
Edit: Characters.Constantine apparently already exists as an index. Should it be turned into a character page for the franchise?

Maybe we can move their folders to their respective pages (Example: Moving Makoto's tropes from Ultra Despair Girls folder to Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, but we still need to do something about the "In General" folders)
- Keep Kokichi and Miu CSPs intact as their pages will surpass the byte limit.

Have you ever played any of the Danganronpa games?
Anyway, this is very complicated. First we should check if some of their tropes would fit better in their respective work pages, as they may not be characterization tropes. Then, moving the folders wouldn't be much of a problem, but I don't know how to put the general tropes, maybe in the first game they appear?
Danganronpa — Monokuma is in the same multiple folders situation at 44,6 k characters, but he's listed outside of any of the titles.
For the moment, the only character that can be moved without problems is Celestia, because she only appears in Trigger Happy Havoc.
I agree that we can't do much with Kochiki and Miu.

Not doing it yet. Because we may do more cleanup on the rest in a way that further reduces the number of CSP and thus updates the page-top index. Another idea could be making a section for Overarching characters, both male and female.

You know, there are some things done on here that just don't make sense to me. You merge Jamie back into the Halloween characters page even though her article is larger than the three versions of Laurie and justify that its due to her only having one version when there's plenty of movie character pages that are just one version.
What's the point of editing on this site if everything you do just gets reverted for the sake of a rules change? I should just quit.

It was because the main characters page was small enough that it could take someone back in, and it made more sense to put Jamie back because Laurie's page covers multiple versions of her. Because it covers multiple iterations of the same character, it makes sense for Laurie's page to stay if one of them has to go.

Personally, I still don't think merging Jamie and not Laurie made sense. I don't think Laurie needs one either. I would put Laurie, Loomis and Jamie together in a recurring page and merge back the other two timelines for the first two back to their respective pages. Like its not like say the 2007 or 2018 pages are that big either. The only one who should have a page in my opinion is Micheal and that is just due to sheer size.
