My Adventures With Superman (HBO Max Series)

While it was pretty likely that Alex was going to be Lex Luthor, I did have this idea where Decomposite Character would be in effect and that Alex would be the son of Lex Luthor.

Alex being the Mad Scientist and his dad being the Corrupt Corporate Executive.

Doubt it’d happen in the series but it’d be an interesting fanfic.

Based on that clip I wonder if this show will draw a comparison between Waller and Zod, or present them as counterparts?

I can easily imagine it, as both are military commanders and they are both often characterized as people who do what they think is needed to supposedly protect their people, but only end up endangering their worlds through their reckless methods, and singleminded drive.

They did pull something like that with Lex Luthor, but Josie’s choice of words makes me think that those Exact Words woudn’t exactly work.

On other hand, apparently everybody else from DC catalogue is fair game, so it means we could get some unexpected appearances.

It makes no sense to have Bruce without Batman.

Bruce's not going to stay idle while a crisis is going on. So it's for the best to pretend he's away handling his own business.

Episode Synopses for the first 5 episodes of Season 2 have made it online:

1. More Things in Heaven and Earth - Clark agonizes over what to do for his and Lois' first Valentine's Day; Visions of his father lead him, Jimmy, and Lois to the remains of his spaceship and the new villains of Task Force X.

2. Adventures with My Girlfriend - Perry saddles Jimmy with a new team to run Flamebird; Clark and Lois investigate Stryker Penitentiary and discover how far Amanda Waller will go to rid the world of Superman.

3. Fullmetal Scientist - Clark's life falls apart as The General goes into hiding ... in Clark's apartment! Meanwhile, Jimmy struggles with being a leader, and Lois goes toe-to-toe with Vicki Vale as they track down missing scientists!

4. Two Lanes Diverged - Jimmy gets invited to the S.T.A.R. Labs Symposium; Clark joins him for support, but Lex Luthor takes over; the General flees and Lois chases after him, struggling to reconcile past experiences with the present situation.

5. Most Eligible Superman - Lois and Clark's relationship is pushed to the breaking point when Superman is named Metropolis' most eligible bachelor; Jimmy gives a girl a tour of the city; a girl is on a mission to find her long-lost cousin.

Some of these episodes are pointing me towards certain expectations.

Yeah, that's a standard for most shows. They're advised to start prepping for a next season before an official greenlight. Crossing my fingers here.

Greetings all. Hope everyone's doing well.

For those here who don't already know me (which I would assume is most of you), I'm a regular at the Toonami thread over in the Manga & Anime section.

Back when My Adventures with Superman's first season aired on Toonami, I'd often give (rather long-winded) post-episode thoughts starting around the second half of the season. slim suggested that it might be a good idea to share my views at the forum thread actually dedicated to MawS, and I replied that I might do so after compiling everything into a more general (but still long-winded) review of sorts.

... Which didn't happen in a timely manner for various reasons. Then came the official announcement of S2 not too long ago, and I remembered the unfinished script I had been sitting on for months. orz

The goal was to have that completed before the S2 premiere tonight, but there's been multiple delays on my end, so I'm not going to try to haphazardly slap something together in the span of a single evening.

That being said, whenever I do have all my thoughts in order (hopefully in another week or two if all goes well), would anyone be interested in giving it a look? I'd be more than happy to share provided no one minds the possibility of their eyes glazing over in the process.

I'm only half-joking here.

I'm going to add this thread to my watchlist to try to stay on top of any replies, but if I don't respond anytime soon, it probably means I just forgot to check this thread. If that happens, or I happen to be running incredibly late with my review, feel free to PM me.

I can't remember: have we had any mention of Lois' sister in this continuity? Regarding the whole situation they're adapting with The General, if Lucy is in this continuity things could possibly get messy.

I only ask for two things.

No Batman, and no Evil Supermen.
