So, all the images on both the main and character pages for Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1 are entirely broken.
Also last night I was randomly looking through my avatar image gallery and one image was replace with a horribly squished image of a guy smiling.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!
The image for Game Gourmet is broken.

A lot of images and pages aren’t loading for me right now. Could this be a related issue?

I literally just came to say "Hey, why is everyone's avatar broken?"
The image for the Tearjerker page for The Simpsons Movie was overwritten by the one in the Tearjerker page for Kirby. The Simpsons Movie used its_hopeless.png while Kirby used its_hopeless.jpg
I wasn't aware of this issue at the time, so I reuploaded the Simpsons Movie one as its_hopelesstsm.png

The image server converts to webp format when the browser supports it. This is a guideline from Google. We were removing the extension and saving the file in a cache (ie: myimage.jpg becomes myimage.webp). Well we didn't take into account someone else uploading the same image in another format like myimage.png which then looks in the cache for myimage.webp and finds the wrong image. And when trying to fix this and re-creating the cache it caused the server to get overloaded so uncached images weren't displaying at all. Should be good now though. Let us know if any new image issues start.
Thumbnails when searching still aren't fixed. If a page image is changed, then you search for the page, the thumbnail will be blank instead of showing the new page image.

The one day I don't check out the wiki is the one day this happens... well, at least it'll give something to mention for my Trope Report section.
The bug doesn't seem to only show the wrong pictures. It even messes with the images that they look like they suddenly dropped in resolution.
I prefer to lay low and to not be perceived.

Yeah, it looks like all the changed images are fixed, but a lot of images look worse since the server migration.

This is probably the fault of the WebP format, because it's lossy and the previously-used PNG is lossless.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.

According to Wikipedia, WebP can support both lossy and lossless compression, but it looks like we're using the former.

Not changed, but I'm seeing a bunch of broken images on Characters.Schlock Mercenary; specifically under Brad, the Reverend, Ebby, Legs, Shep, Doythaban, and Shufgar. There are other images on the page that are fine. Is that related to this problem?

I've noticed that a lot of images look worse now. What's odd, though, is that on my laptop, images that now look worse look artifacted both when on the wiki and when opened in their own tabs. However, on mobile, images initially look artifacted on the wiki, but if you open them in their own tabs, they look fine. Furthermore, doing that on mobile also causes the image quality to temporarily improve when viewed on the wiki.

For me on mobile at least, images (like the Smoke Monster one above) still look bad in their own tab.
A Silent Voice: Ueno's and Sahara's pics have this problem (The correct ones are .png ones). I can't fix it, am edit banned.
