Throughout this site, some tropers have a habit of adding in potholes and references to their favorite reviewers in entries, e.g. "Come see (reviewer)'s take on it here!"
Not only is it often unnecessary, but in some cases if the critic in question is a Caustic Critic it can be used to invite complaining, on top of crossing over into Reviews Are the Gospel territory since these tropers often treat these reviewers as if their opinion is fact.
Per this thread in Wiki Talk, this thread has been created in Long-Term Projects to clean up this kind of thing and Reviews Are the Gospel-type stuff in general.
REMEMBER: This criteria, made by mightymewtron, should be followed for knowing when to keep reviewer potholes:

Both quotes can be cut, IMO.
The Drinker's page was cut anyway so it wouldn't hurt to remove.
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectBringing this up from Face on a Milk Carton. The added quote (which comes off as typical "edgy 2000s online reviewer" snark) is very needless and needs to go, and just seems to add to the general complaining about the comic.
- In All-Star Batman & Robin, the Boy Wonder a.k.a. ASBAR, Superman sees the face of Dick Grayson on a milk carton. Particularly jarring, as Dick had been taken in by Batman that very day. From one review of the comic.
...it's actually been a long enough ride in the Batmobile for Dick to have been reported missing, for his name to get to the missing persons groups, for them to submit his information to the milk company, for the milk company to print the cartons, distribute the cartons, and then for Clark Kent to go to the grocery store and buy the carton of milk. Let's see, by my rough estimate, that means that Batman and Dick have been on the way to the Batcave for, oh, about FIVE FUCKING WEEKS now.
I guess just snip the quote and the last line of the paragraph.
On AmericansHateTingle.Pokemon:
- Cute Pokémon in general. Duckyworth, while reviewing Pokémon: Giratina and the Sky Warrior, had one of his complaints be about Giratina’s lack of appearance, appearing in only five of the first 43 minutes of the film and instead giving more focus to the "annoying green flower rat" Shaymin instead. In Japan, there is a bigger focus on the lighter, cuter aspects of a franchise, whereas, in most of the merchandising and the anime, mainly cute Pokémon take up the spotlight; while there is more focus on the "manlier" aspects in Western culture. Hence, the cuter Legendary and Mythical Pokémon tend to get a bigger focus in these films (for reference, the movie is called Giratina and the Sky's Bouquet: Shaymin there instead). Eevee and its evolutions are a major exception here, as they tend to be immensely popular worldwide.
Seems odd to cite some random Deviantart user as if they were some reputable critic, does it not?
back lolThat and it's just straight-up wrong. America loves cute Pokemon - maybe certain older/"hardcore" fans prefer non-cute ones, but Pikachu, Eevee, Teddiursa, Scorbunny, etc. have tons of merch down here because kids and casuals love cute shit.
Admittedly I myself am not a devoted Pokemon fan so I wouldn't know what the major consensus is, but either way one single rando on DeviantArt probably isn't the most reputable source for the majority opinion.
Came for the tropes, stayed for the cleanup. It's definitely not as black and white as it's made to seem. America loves a lot of the edgy pokemon, but we also love a lot of the cuties.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIt's more like Americans seem to complain more about "badass" Pokemon not getting screentime, but a lot of people (including, y'know, kids) really like the cute Pokemon. Some of these entries sound like complaining that a family anime isn't focusing on what adult fans think is cool, not even that it's not focusing on what Americans think is cool.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I also think the problem with the Giratina movie specifically is that people found Shaymin super annoying.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessDo w really need the reference to the Angry Video Game Nerd here? From VideoGame.Pit Fall
Super Pitfall, a sequel/loose remake of Lost Caverns, was released in 1986 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. All that needs to be said about that game is that The Angry Video Game Nerd has reviewed it.
My troper wallNope, it's a ZCE, lists the reception in the description, and tells you absolutely nothing about the game.
Came for the tropes, stayed for the cleanup. So, I found this on YMMV.Lady Ballers
- Broken Aesop:
- The movie's message is that trans athletes are a threat to the sanctity of women's sports. This is despite the repeated dunks on women's sports as being lesser than "real" (read: Cis Men's) sports and inherently deserving of less respect.
Cody Johnston: [...]and as I mentioned before, this film doesn't seem to have a single women's basketball player represented as a character, and actually seems to hate the WNBA. They have repeated jokes from like 20 years ago about how nobody watches women's basketball, and the other players are mainly portrayed as pouty props. Their starting premise is that any man could beat any woman at any sport. It has no respect for, or interest in, the thing it's claiming to defend and protect, to the point that it seems ignorant and hostile to it. And that's just so weird to do when the thing you're trying to say is that this is all about preserving the dignity of women's sports.
Now it was deleted without edit reason before being added back due to no edit reason being given, but I am wondering if the quote is necessary. Like the entry doesn't mention him beforehand and it feels weird to just drop a quote in there.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI think the quote elaborates on the example's point enough that it's fine to keep. Might be a little long, but I dunno.
Yeah the entry doesn't need the quote persay, but the entry isn't hurt by having it, so I don't mind its presence
(disregard)

Found these on YMMV.Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers:
- Accidental Innuendo: "The Last Leprechaun" has a scene where Darby tries to convince Dale to help him by offering to be captured. Unfortunately, as Nothing But Cartoons points out while reviewing the episode, it looks like something else.
- Suspiciously Similar Song: The theme song itself is very, very similar to the theme song of MacGyver (1985). Youtube Pooper Waxonator has mashed up both theme songs to showcase the similarities.
Kinda on the fence about the second one (because it sounds pretty fun), but it can probably go. First one should definitely go.
Also, the first one is a bit of a ZCE without the link (I can't picture how that scene would look like an innuendo).
First one is zero context, and judging from the screengrab on the linked site, also feels like misuse/shoehorn. Dale gets wrestled to the ground and the characters fight; does that really look "like something else"? Second one I'd keep.
I too would cut the first but keep the second.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThere's this example from YMMV.The Simpsons Movie under They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character:
- The Nostalgia Critic felt that the Boob Lady could have been used to tie up a few loose ends. She could have been sending Grandpa psychic visions and compelled Homer to go to Alaska, Spider-Pig could have been her spirit animal.
It's never implied she was responsible for those things in the movie. This is just a reviewer suggesting their own storyline. I'd say cut.
Agree to cut, that's incredibly tenuous.
I cut it.
I feel like this very entry and its quotes have been brought up before, maybe in ATT. That aside, I don't think either quote is particularly necessary, especially as lengthy paragraphs.
