There are definitely many stories that can be told in the remaining 23 episodes if it's true that there will be 49 episodes, I am excited.

Confirmation that the (or A) spinosaurus will indeed be back. Possibly tying onto the ongoing plot line about Wu's hybrids.

Is this supposed to be the same individual Spinosaurus from the third movie?

Unclear at this point.

New trailer: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=3273833842847980&id=1488638974700818&m_entstream_source=feed_mobile&anchor_composer=false

So there's a spinosaurus that may or may not be Rexslayer, the mosasaur being out is still bad news, and it's not just dinosaurs bought back - a sabertooth cat appears too. Though it might be a robot?!

This season looks like it's gone way way beyond the initial "teens on Isla Nublar" premise one way or another.

Perhaps the island is a property of BioSyn and it's meant to be a set-up for the company making their own dinosaurs in Dominion.

If you can make robots like that then why would you even bother with the dinosaurs?

There was a passing mention of mammoth remains for an unknown project in the first season. I'd say a certain Chekhov's Gun just went off.

[up]x4 I actually think the island is Mantah Corps property. Another Chekhov's Gun that was never fully explored, and we know they use drones too.

I wonder if this season's "big surprise" might be cloned prehistoric humans, which would raise all sorts of interesting What Measure Is a Non-Human? questions. We already know cloning humans is a thing in the Jurassic Park universe due to Maisie Lockwood.

I like that they’ve become genre savvy and not willing to rely on the innocuous explanation to ominous things

Well season 4 is not bad as such but it does not feel like it's connected to the broader JP world much any more. No In Gen and all the cloning/hybrid storylines just dropped completely in favour of robots and mind controlled dinosaurs.

I think its possible to see this season as bit of expansion on the world of scifi megacorp stuff I think [lol]

I sort of felt like the saber-toothed tiger was a big disappointment. When we saw it in the trailer, I was psyched. It raised all sorts of questions. Was there a whole island of Cenozoic mammals? Are they going to show up in the next movie? But instead, it gets just two short scenes, and then is unceremoniously killed off by. . . you-know-what. It doesn't really have any greater relevance to the story, and we never even find out what Mantah Corp's plans involving it were.

I feel like biggest downside of CGI cartoons is that budget means there will be more of similar 3d models rather than new creature every time ^^;
