Akai Haato (Haachama) is the one that stands out the most to me, mostly because of sheer insanity

The Hololive Vtubers seem to be iconoclastic in their disregard for the Contractual Purity Inherent in the System of Japanese Idol Singers. I think Kiryu Coco and the aforementioned Haachama takes it to "canary in the coal mine" levels, drifting so far from what an Idol should be that they are able to push the envelope until they find which parts of it push back.

I'm a very basic dude, the only one I watch clips of is Korone.

I've been keeping up with all of HololiveEN but most of all Mori Calliope. Her latest Doom Eternal stream when she ended by going all Tranquil Fury was so fun and terrifying.

I feel like the It Will Never Catch On sentiment that surrounded Holomyth before their debut stemmed form the Original Position Fallacy or a form of myopia. As they seemingly didn't account for or underestimated the number of fans from Japan and other places beyond the angloshere wanting to enjoy their streams as well.

I only just started watching Hololive after being introduced indirectly through the Aloe Mano controversy, and immediately noticed there was some English speakers among them and so naturally gravitated towards them. I've been enjoying watching Kiara, especially when she wins a game by playing about like a headless chicken.

It was only after that that I went to check out the Japanese Vtubers.

According to the And You Thought It Would Fail entry at least, but in hindsight I prolly should had taken that with some salt, given how unreliable some trope/ymmv examples can be.

Aloe Mano was one of the latest Hololive members, but less than a month after her debut she accidentally doxxed herself, leading to a flood of harassment against her real self and her family. She was suspended in the hopes that things would die down if she just lay low for a while, but not long after it was announced that she would be "graduating" from the group and leaving altogether. Apparently the stress from all the harassment was just too overwhelming.

Oh yeah, I remember now.

People, man...

I can only hope that history doens't repeat itself...well more so that I already did.

Onto lighter news. Gura breached 700k last night IIRC, her channel seems to have the most growth of the EN crew.

She's certainly earned it. Who would have guessed a shark-themed English Hololive member would be so darn popular. But hey, she's fun to watch play games, her jokes are funny, and she's a decent singer.

I haven't actually watched any livestreams except for one Kiara did a few days ago, which unfortunately was the one where her computer decided to fritz out and ruin her stream. Boy was she frustrated. It was kinda cute seeing her fans pour out so much encouragement during it all though.

TL;DR she's adorable and charming.

Oh, make that two. Gura and Amelia are doing a stream right now.

It took this long to get a Vtuber thread? Been following them since lockdown. Started with Coco's Ark streams then got Asacoco injected into my veins then saw for myself the birth of Haachama chama.^* Hoping for the best

Anyway since Nijisanji has been brought up, just want to share about them too. Recently got into Machita Chima due her singing voice but my favorite vtuber in general is Suzuhara Lulu. Her Soulsborne streams are my favorites.

For those familiar with hololive, can someone explain the collab bans? I know the Holomyth group's ate gonna be lifted soon and I was curious about what the bans are in this context.

Also wanna ask to see what collabs do you want to see between them and the rest of Hololive's talents?

PhysicalStamina I think MorningStar1337 is referring to the "rule" that new members cannot collab with other members outside their generation until a month has passed. The reason for this is so that the generation like Holo Myth can establish their own individual appeal and respective fanbases as well as their overall group dynamic. As per my own collabs I want to see: Ina and Marine drawing stream, Amelia and Botan FPS gaming (doubtful due to language barrier), alternatively Amelia and Artia gaming, Kiara and Pekora, any member with Coco and/or Haachama and rap battle between Calli, Watame and Fubuki.

Outside of Hololive: Ina and Suzuhara Lulu for sure. One eldritch horror and an artist. It would also be nice if they can collab with other English-speaking vtubers like Hana Macchia from Nijisanji, Shirayuri Lily from Vivid, or Pikamee from VOMS.

Well that answers the question I didn't ask but was thinking about.

I could have sworn Kiara and the duck chick had already announced an upcoming collaboration.
