Chapter 50: where you have to actively aim at being a Lethal Chef.
No kidding, I think I’m starting to like this more than Spy × Family. These little moments between Mutsumi and Taiyo are simply priceless.
Chap 51 fleshes out Shion a little bit, and it’s an all-around doozy.
This series has a pretty great female cast, really.
It always was interesting how Shion never really took to the frontlines even when in the thick of a fight, always resorts to drones and holing herself up when Tanpopo attacks the manor.
This chapter just confirms that she just wasn't born with the physical aptitude of her siblings.
Though, I wonder why Taiyo is so scared of Kenji's parents given that he has no problems punching people through walls and wriggling his way out of Nanao's grip. Someone who crumples solid metal like tinfoil would only be on the same level as him in terms of brute force.

Taiyo is officially over getting drip-fed the plot in between shenanigans. He's ready to get proactive on a bitch.
I honestly thought Mutsumi was gonna talk about producing an heir but I guess that’s a tad early for that. Though the previous chap did surreptitiously mention porn on TV, so eh.
Still, I can’t say enough how refreshing it is to have a couple that actually acts like a couple in a shonen action series.

I dunno if I have said it ever aloud, but its sad that in modern day shonen, most original thing would be for main character to be alraedy dating someone by time series starts
Like seriously, its so rare in manga outside of slice of slice romance fluff yonkoma that having dynamic of "oh and these two are dating" instead of "and these two are crushing on each other" would be way different :P
Man I wonder if Kyoichiro will start warming up to Taiyo by the point they are actually old enough to consummate their relationship.
Granted by that point Taiyo will prolly be strong enough to ward off Kyoichiro's assaults without assistance.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Kyoichiro has had a number of Pet the Dog moments throughout the story so far. Sure, Kyoichiro still gets murderous if Taiyo does anything remotely romantic with Mutsumi, but he's definitely cooled off significantly from the beginning of the series.
Heck, his assignments for Taiyo, once excuses just to kill him (i.e. underwater training), are now designed with the mindset that he's more than capable of handling them (i.e. the torpedo), albeit while still being attempts to kill him.
Baby steps, I suppose.
There's also how he lets Mutsumi knockout Taiyo with her singing rather than simply clocking him over the head after his newly Yozakura-enhanced senses drive him crazy, which even Futaba is quick to call him on.
Well uh that chapter is weird.
Also shame on audience for american stereotype? ;P
…Okay, that was random.
Yeah, it just feels like a huge non-sequitur after the big statement in the previous chapter.
I guess the author just wanted to give a friendly nod to his fans.
It is basically just putting as much fan-made spies in a chapter as possible.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I’ll take that over introducing Mutsumi’s eleventh crush-stalker.
Yeah, that's definitely one of the weaknesses of the series. The author likes to fill pages through short episodic stalkers after Mutsumi for one reason or another.
Even after introducing a major plot element in the Hazakura drug and Taiyo getting souped up to proper Yozakura levels with Mutsumi's blood, nothing seems to have changed in particular about how he approaches things.
If he's strong enough to throw off Nanao and Shinzo at the same time, a bunch of bog-standard burly spies should be nothing to him.
That’s a bit unfair, he definitely puts more focus on the existing characters now. I’m not sure whose idea this chapter was, though. It seems like something his editor would ask him to do as an event or some shit.
It definitely feels like a filler chapter after the author got a little too much fanart, or maybe he had a contest that we didn't know about over here on the other side of the Pacific.
It's a really jarring addition after the last chapter, where Taiyo basically says he's going on the offensive by tracking down the Yozakura patriarch rather than waiting for conflict to come to him.
Phew, the new chapter is a return to form. The plot is moving again and we've got a nice balance of comedy and drama in this one.
All the little details add up really nicely to the confrontation at the end, and Shirai seems to be an interesting new female character.
Okay, this is getting really good. I suspect the woman to be Mutsumi’s mom…
I'd be kind of disappointed in that. Plus, as the head of the family, she wouldn't have any Yozakura talents.
Today's chapter was depressing as heck.
That last panel of Taiyo with his family is just oof.
And it looks like we're moving into a flashback chapter, so have fun next week.
Just when I think I've got a handle on how wild this manga can get it hits me with a character spelling out a message with her prehensile hair too fast for normal eyes to keep up.
It's even sadder considering they didn't know anything about what was really happening, but were killed anyway just for being a loose end.
Disgusted, but not surprisedMan that doctor is a real piece of shit.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Not that this wasn't already obvious considering his plan is to kill a girl and harvest her to create a Super Serum.
Considering the protagonists are a family of assassins, the bad guys have to be absolute scum of the earth to make it easier for us to root for the protagonists.

Disgusted, but not surprised
A place to discuss Mission: Yozakura Family.
It's a manga that's managed to stick around against all odds, so it ought to get a thread of its own.
So yeah, go nuts.
