Not hating Scrappies v2

I'm also okay with Sonic's Big the Cat. Hate his gameplay in Sonic Adventure, but the character himself is fine.

I've heard about people hating the Mick and Ralph's Crier from Fallout: New Vegas, and I don't really get it. He's just some kid advertising a business he works for, and he's not bratty or anything.

Apparently, people hate Prince Bladd from Triss. On YMMV.Redwall, he's listed under Alas, Poor Scrappy, and The Scrappy has this to say about his family:

I haven't read the book in a long time, but I remember liking him. He seemed like a relatively Affably Evil character who was mostly being dragged along by his more-evil sister. I felt like him being "pathetic" was kind of the point, and also what made him endearing. I felt genuinely bad when he died.

Nothing can make me hate the funny German ferret boy. XD

I'm part of the 1% of the population that likes Popplio. I don't get why so many people hate it tbh. Apparently it's ugly or something but I just see a cute mermaid dog thing.

I also don't hate Spyro's Skylanders design, I can see how it'd be off-putting from a You Don't Look Like You standpoint, and Spyro did have a bit of a pug-face sometimes in the games, but the design itself isn't that bad. It looks like a dragon that would hatch out of an egg and you'd keep it as a pet :3.

Really? Prinarina might look too frilly but it’s in no way a tier induced scrappy. It’s a great special sponge that can force switches with its simple (but effective) arsenal.

Then again, I mostly base Pokémon on their uniqueness and competitive viability. Castform and Unfezant are big turn offs for me. I hope they get boosts down the line but I’ll keep my expectations low.

I also love Popplio. Only Popplio, though; I don't like its evolutions that much.

I don't judge Pokémon by their battle prowess.

At least from a design standpoint I would probably put the entire Popplio line in my top three favorite Water-starter lines (with Mudkip and Sobble) because IMO they have the best designs out of all the Alola starters (and some of the best designs in all the starter lines period).

I never found Navi to be annoying and always thought the vitriol against her was insincere.

As someone who started watching the Pokemon anime during the Unova arc, I don't have a problem with Iris. It's cool that she's a female companion whose character arc doesn't involve Ship Tease or the performing arts. Her Hypocritical Humor of calling Ash a kid when she's pretty impulsive herself is hilarious. Much respect for the girl who can carry around a forty-pound dragon in her hair across Unova with no issues.

I like the orphans from Yakuza 3; yes, their plot does drag on a bit, but they're just kids doing kid things and they help to bring out more of Kiryu's fatherly side, which can be lost in some of the Heroic Bloodshed plots of the games.

When I read the page for Dear Evan Hansen, I was actually pretty shocked to learn Miguel from the book was a Scrappy. I honestly really liked that added plotpoint of his and Connor's relationship even if it wasn't brought up in the musical.

Samurott may be a major Base-Breaking Character at best, but he’s actually a contender for my favorite Pokémon period.

I like Popplio as well. Along with that, i like Berdly, mainly cause i think he's funny-though it's more laughing at him than with him.

As you could probably tell by my avatar, I like Vanillite. Its design isn't ingenious by any means, but I'm a sucker for cute things, so it's fine by me. I just think they're neat :3.

Popplio, Vanillite, both are freakin' adorable.

And can we get some love for Trubbish? I have a shiny Garbodor from breeding and they were an egglocke staple for me. Love 'em.

Oh yeah.

Give the love for Klefkei and the other inanimate object Pokémon as well too. They are decent designs.

I think Chloe Carmichael would have been a good addition to the show in a universe where they added her before Sparky and Poof.

I don't reckon that it is that their designs are lame, but that people reckon that dragons and dinosaurs are cooler than lamps and gears. Personally, I feel like their lore and whatnot are part of the fun too.

I thought the Litwick line was a fan-favorite.

I was only a kid when Clippy happened so I didn't hate him at all. I thought the assistants were cute. My class and I would joke about which ones we got for the day when we used the computers. As an adult I can see why it would've been annoying, though.

I can understand why people don't like Miko from Transformers: Prime, but she's actually my favorite main human companion. I really like Genki Girl-type characters, and the fact that the show kept focusing so much on her compared to the other two, by proxy making her more interesting, helped a lot.

I'm sure a lot of you know this already but a lot of my vitriol is moreso directed towards characters like Optimus (very boring compared to other Optimi, and considering the fact that most of his characterization nowadays is "Speech-Giving Hero" like in TFP that's definitely saying something), Soundwave (there are a lot of ways you can make a voiceless character interesting, but Soundwave isn't one of them. I like G1 Sounders more. Lemon Geewunner Moments), and most of all Starscream.

I'm in the same boat. When I was a little kid, I used to open up Microsoft Office just to play with Clippy and the other assistant characters. It actually legitimately surprised me when I grew up and saw how much people couldn't stand Clippy (nor the other assistant characters). Even now, I still can't completely hate Clippy despite also now understanding why people couldn't stand him.
