For some reason Sam gets stuck in a Ghostface costume and thus we never see her face the entire film. Also the costume has a voice modulator.

The First manOr how about Sam only ever appears in the costume with the voice and then gets away at the end of the movie? That's a different way for her to still be involved and yet not appear at all.
Just in case it needs clarifying I was joking.
The First manI partially was too. Haha.
Yeah like I said, this isn't going away unless they hire Melissa back. This is not gonna go the way they think.
I'm hearing they're considering a full on reboot. Frankly, they'd be way better off doing an expansion of the show—which didn't get an ending from what I've definitely heard.

Yeah Season 2 ended on some cliffhangers and then Season 3 rebooted and came up with a black cast.
Which is weird as hell for me. Like, if they'd started that way fine, but they deliberately left us on a cliffhanger. I've no idea why they decided Season 3 should just be a redo.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Wasn't there some big behind the scenes changes between seasons two and three? That's probably why it ended up like that.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlyWent from MTV to VH1 for one thing. Yeah. Haven't seen the show yet—got the seasons I didn’t already have on Prime a few months ago though, but I would want to see them finish what they started though certainly.
This might be a controversial statement, but I'd be perfectly fine if the series just stopped with VI. The killer's motivations were recycled, as was the collegiate setting, and the franchise-typical discussions of metatext just showed how much they're straining to take the series anywhere new, since those meant nothing and never pay off—the equivalent scene in last year's movie that Dewey gave was kind of stupid and gave up the mystery way too early, but at least it DID pay off in the end.
If anything, I thought this movie was too easy in being able to figure out who at least two of the killers were and what their motivation was, so that's where I stand on it.
What's funny is that again, it would balance out. Like I said, with the fourth one, you had the one movie starting a trilogy and with these two you had two parts of a trilogy. Now you technically got two film trilogies out of the series as is.
So, if Scream 7 had happened, we seemed to be building up toward Sam being the killer. If not, the hallucinations of Billy have no purpose.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).It's implied in the sixth film that she somewhat embraced the identity of Ghostface, so again, keeping with the Serial-Killer Killer motif would be the way to go certainly. I wrote both ACI and Sequel Hook entries given credence to that theory. Again, here's hoping Spyglass stops being so pig-headed and hires her back rather than letting the project suffer because of it.
I honestly doubt it. People are losing job offers for speaking out on the Israel-Palestine conflict, and I've never heard of an actor being fired from a project then rehired.
Bright side of all this is I learned Melissa Berrara has an interesting catalogue of movie roles.
Sam being a Serial-Killer Killer I could see. I just don't know how they plan to explain Billy. I mean, people don't just one day stop having hallucinations, do they, and using the impulses granted to you by a teenaged serial killer doesn't sound realistic. Then again she never met him in the first place so having a CGI impression along with his voice butied in her subconscious was pretty nonsensical to begin with.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).She'd probably seen photos and footage of him. That could be how she formed an impression. Also, Sam's a recovering addict, so it's possible said image of him is a consequence of that too.
Christopher Landon dropped out of the new Scream weeks ago.
Just train wreck after train wreck.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlyWell. This film is doomed and it hasn't even really started filming yet.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadYeah. The gift that keeps on giving. Paramount's better off taking the movie away from Spyglass and trying to repair all the damage at this point to try to get back all the good-will lost.
What happened to Landon that he said it "became a nightmare?"
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).At least part of it must be all the stupidity that led to the two leads dropping out.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlyWhat was it Melissa Berrara said that got her fired again?
Like specifically.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).She said something about how Isreal was practicing ethnic cleansing and genocide with their actions in Gaza.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlyLike I said, might be a safer bet going back to the TV characters if they can't get anyone to do a movie at this point. Until they fix the situation, it's radioactive now.
Said comments were taken as Anti-Semitic, despite previously and afterwards condemning anti-semitism and Islamophobia, along with the response from Spyglass being seen as trashy and “knee-jerk”.

Everybody loves the me! I’m a great athlete!Oh, absolutely. What she said was taken out of context and it seemed more like an excuse than a valid reasoning
You and I remember Budapest very differently
I made an ACI on the Scream VI YMMV before all this crap happened about what Sam was potentially thinking about when she almost held onto the mask at the end of the movie and just wrote a Sequel Hook entry on the main page too. I can still imagine what comes next, can't I? Spyglass can't take that from me.
