Neither poem on NES Godzilla Creepypasta fits the 5-7-5 format (one poem is four lines, even), the first doesn't have any line breaks, and the second feels complainy.

Line breaks are not a necessity in haiku-writing, and neither is the 5-7-5 format (it should not go over 17 syllables, however). That said, it looks like the creator of the first one tried to make lines, but didn't format it correctly.

Looking at the edit reason for the second one, it was added to complain, so would need removing on those grounds, even if it didn't suffer from the problem of having 23 syllables (which it does, so it needs removing on those grounds, too).

Having said all that, I think this site does stick quite rigidly to 5-7-5, so while I personally wouldn't toss the first one solely on the grounds of presentation (just reformat it the way the troper originally wanted), the guidelines for this site don't let it stay.

The Haiku.Fetish Fuel page got mentioned once before, but nothing was really done about it. The first three are rather skeevy, but the fourth does summarise Fetish Fuel well.

What do people think?

I only just noticed that Haiku.Troll Post got cut. I'm sad now. tongue

The first two haikus on Haiku.Murder Simulators don't follow the 5-7-5 rule or have 17 syllables. The first one has 15-7-18 syllables, while the second one has 12-8-11.

If it's okay, I'll go remove them.

Yeah, they've definitely gone a bit overboard on syllables there.

Haiku.Kablam has a haiku for the Off-Beats that's just the show's theme song. None of the lines match the syllables they're supposed to have, and there's even a fourth line (which I'm pretty sure isn't allowed for haikus).

Number of lines isn't particularly important for haiku, it's just that Anglophone schools tend to teach 5-7-5 by rote, so most people think that's the only way to write a haiku. Plenty of professional haiku are done in one line. The most important thing is to never exceed 17 syllables. However, this site does tend to stick to the 5-7-5 format. It's familiar to everyone and therefore easier to keep problems at bay.

It's moot since the deleted example was way over 17 syllables.

Yeah, it was. I was just commenting on the number of lines. This isn't the first one I've seen that didn't follow the three-line format, although I haven't seen any that managed to stick to the syllable limit.

The second and fourth haikus on Haiku.People Sit On Chairs seem like misuse, since People Sit on Chairs is about things being too meaningless to trope, not too common to trope.

Should Haiku.Asperchu be cut? I found it during wick cleanup (the wick is clear misuse), and the lone poem may be problematic.

Edit: Asked complaining thread, and it appears to be made by a banned troper as well. It's now cut and, as the work itself is a complaining magnet, it joins the other cut subpages in PRLC.

Haiku.Final Fantasy XIV consists entirely of Haikus not written by Tropers. Is this allowed?

Yes, that looks like plagiarism, since it clearly indicates it's taking them from a haiku competition that occurred elsewhere on the Internet.

I've asked on the Copy-Paste clean-up thread whether the page can be cut for these reasons.

The second and third lines have nine and seven syllables respectively. Kindly rewrite those.

This one reeks of complaining, the sole entry on Haiku. One Letter Pun:

When you need a joke
But you’ve run out of good ones
Use this. Kids like it.

It outright says the joke is not good, and that you have to be either a moron or a kid to enjoy it, plus it defines the trope as "bad joke" rather than "pun on a letter or number".

For every low there is a high.

[up] Having investigated the trope itself, the description veers on complaining as well. That, combined with the trope being wick-starved, may well warrant TRS action. In the meantime, I'd cutlist the page.

[up] The second and third are complaining, but I'm pretty sure the first is joking on how common those sorts of insults are in comments. Could be a bit clearer, though.

[up][up], [up] Agreed on culling the second and third for complaining. The first can stay provided that last line is redone...it's a legit troll-type comment, but I'd prefer something less tacky.
