Walking Spoiler Cleanup

Walking Spoiler, as Square Peg, Round Trope puts it, "is one of the most misused and misunderstood tropes on the whole wiki." And apparently it having an entry on that page and a bolded message on the trope's main page clarifying its proper usage doesn't help much with the misuse because I've seen shoehorning in for works released after that entry was added to SPRT. I don't think anything is wrong with the trope's name or description, and more just people seeing the misuse everywhere and assuming it to be the proper definition and going and adding more misuse without doing proper research. Therefore, a cleanup would be the best solution.

To elaborate, Walking Spoiler is not merely a character who is hard to talk about without spoiling the work, such as someone with a secret identity or someone tied to a big plot twist. In order to qualify, literally everything about this character, including the fact that they exist, is a big spoiler. You cannot mention this character period without spoiling the work, because even the most basic information about them is a spoiler.

I've been doing some tinkering around to remove some misuse I found, but I'm only one person and I don't know the context for every work to determine if an entry is misuse or not, so I'd like some help please. That's where you guys come in.

The trope description states that that's the worst case scenario. The first paragraph states: "A character or thing who has most of the tropes underneath it as spoilers."

Okay, maybe this really does need to go to TRS because the third and fourth paragraphs are at odds with the first because they state that the "worst case scenario" is the only option.

What happened was that the description was heavily edited without mod permission more than a year back. The top of the description was how the trope originally was while everything else came after the massive unauthorized alteration.

Every time this is pointed out, discussion just fizzles.

So we take this to the TRS and put the cleanup on hold until then?

EDIT: Started a TRS thread. Don't try any cleanup until everyone has reached a verdict.
