Undead Unluck S1, final episode: "It's okay. I'm just going back to being alone again." I'm not crying, you're crying! Why does Akira's story hit so hard. And it was freaking genius to put the OP after Akira narrates this is To You, From Me. Fantastic conclusion to a fantastic arc.
One thing that's only hitting me now: Feng was able to use the aging artifact because of his Unfade.
Manga Spoilers: Looks like my theory about Language not being a seat in the last loop was wrong, curious what their game was. In the present Nico is putting Ichico on ice after she gets stabbed in the heart, while Ichico makes it clear she refuses to get fridged.
From the looks of it, Language probably challenges Negators to a battle of words/knowledge. Which is apropos. I also like how Language isn't unleashing the full extent of power because she wants to settle her petty grudge against Nico. Which ties back to what Soul said about the Master Rules underestimating humans, to their own detriment. Can't wait to see how Ichico and Un-Negator Nico humiliate the pipsqueak.
x4 I don't know, with this latest chapter that little girl (Language) is looking mighty punchable right now .
Just you wait, the fate of the world will be decided by the most hardcore game of shiritori in history (in case someone reads this comment and doesn't know, it's the game where players link the ending syllable of words with the beginning of others, avoiding saying with a word ending with n).
Wouldn't even be the first time an anime/manga had ludicrously high-stakes shiritori so yeah hahaha.
No Game No Life and magico both did it to be exact.
Yoooo someone remembers Magico!
Regarding Akira Kuno, from a recent interview with Tozuka-sensei: the reason why Akira's mom lived to read To You, From Me is because Tozuka regretted that his mother passed away before Tozuka succeeded in serializing Undead Unluck. She never got to read UU. I thought Unknown's backstory couldn't make me tear up more, but here we are.
Chapter 201: Of course it's shiritori. But not the regular kind. It involves all the languages and everything you say manifests into reality. Now that's an exciting way to play a word game.
Everyone pray for the translator.
x3 [*smug*] He he he. I'm proud of myself, since this is the secong time I predited something about this series (the early return of Sean being the first one). Now let's see if either a master rule rebelling against god or Lucy being related to Billy (most likely granddaughter) become true .
Now, I find the actual execution of the idea to be very cool, not only including possibly every language and the manifestation of every word, but just seeing how cool Nico was when talking about science (it remainded me of Senku). Plus having Ichico being helpful is great, and makes me look forward to the rest of the fight.
Hell yeah, science! I want Nico to beat Language as a normal, non-Negator person. It would be rad.
Chapter 202: I'm guessing using Soul requires imagination and that's why imaginary things can affect Ichico?
Summoning Feng was smart. Maybe he'll enjoy fighting a dragon.
Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in! -Feng, probably.
That was a very smart move by Ichico, since Feng not only brings some high attacking power that she and Nico were missing, but also he is someone who wouldn't mind using his strenght against an UMA that looks like a little girl .
Child abuser Feng is on the case!
Getting hit in the balls by a dragon is a hell of a way to wake up.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Oh I see, so the thing Language had on her head was the Tower of Babel, which is broken in her early phase, but gets repaired in her phase 3, when languages were one and she would be at her strongest. It's obvious in hindsight, but really cool regardless.
Aside from that, this chapter made me think about RPGs when you get to fight against a weaker version of the final boss, as a preview of sorts. I wonder how Language's bosses (would Luna count as her boss?) feel about this, since I could see Luna being amused while Sun might get angry and smite her if she starts losing.
One thing that surprised me is that Tatiana got 2nd place in the popularity poll. In my experience these things tend to be examples of Viewers Are Goldfish where, outside of the main cast (Fuuko, Andy, Nico), the high placers tend to be the most recently relevant characters (as demonstrated w/ Julia and Feng), but I don't think Tatiana's appeared for more than a panel or two since the 101st loop started.
Guess the anime helped.
I love the idea of Feng using the Shiritori game to just make up attack names on the spot.
Language summoning Sol and Luna was so dirty hahaha. As was that.
Tatiana nabbing 2nd place in the poll is probably thanks to the anime, yeah.

Chapter 204: Just when you thought this fight could not go any harder, we have Feng tanking an attack from Luna, Ichico deciding the winning strat was to do like Language said and die to awaken Unforgettable, Feng embracing death so he can learn about souls and grow stronger, and Ichico summoning Apocalypse to speed-cram information into Nicoβs brain. And now we have Third Phase Language versus the Ultimate Unforgettable. Holy shit!
Turns out, this whole time Nico has been in a messed up love triangle, without even knowing . It was so cooll seeing Nico recover the looks of madness he was missing this whole loop, and I guess now he remembers enough things of the previous loop that he will be able to directly discuss with Fuuko about things at her level. Now, how is he going to revive Ichico and Feng, I don't know.
I wonder if Lan will stop being childlike for phase 3 or if she's gonna be neutralised non-fatally somehow?
