On the subject of Notifiers (and how to improve them)

Do we have one for excessive/unnecessary Bold Inflation? Is that even worthy of having a notifier to begin with?

I don't think that's common enough to warrant one.

May go with other "impoper page formatting" ideas, but now I start not liking a unified notifier for every way source-coding can go wrong.

Can mods just adjust the links at mis-play and word cruft notifiers? People keep "fixing" the sandbox because it shows up in wick cleaning, even though the links are intentionally not wicked to Administrivia/ because the notifiers aren't.

Yeah, there's no reason to not just update those.

Then again, Misplay will likely be changed anyway...

I didn't notice that that was an issue until now but I fixed the notifier links and updated the sandbox.

The stub notifier includes a link to TLP crash rescue, but that doesn't apply to most pages, and launching and keeping a stub trope is nearly impossible. Remove?

So, I'm using my Tropeslashing draft today for someone. Let's see how this goes.

You know what would really be helpful? If notifiers were alphabetically sorted, because finding the right one takes quite a while if you're not used to it.

I also agree with that, especially on Night Vision where you can't read it anyway.

They are alphabetically sorted in the mod menu but not from the notifier sender.

I would like to suggest a new notifier for ROCEJ violations, assuming there's room for another.

If we make the mergers we were discussing we'll only have room for three new ones, so we need to choose what's more important between:

• Tropeslashing
• Wall of Text
• ROCEJ
• "Not A Trope"
• General Misuse (if we don't just convert Misplay into it)

Well, actually, we already removed Test and Thanks, so that should be two open spots already... we can probably have all of them.

I really want a "Not A Trope" one that can be used for disambiguated tropes and for Useful Notes being used as tropes.

Maybe "Stop Troping Real Humans"

"Real People" I think would be a better way to phrase it.

And yeah, I'd love to just make Misplay about general misuse (if we can rename it, even better, but that's basically just cutting and replacing it at that point).

Would "Not A Trope" include placing Trivia items in work pages mains and using indexes/disambigs as tropes?

I'd like a "Real-Life Troping" notifier, as well as an extension to Creator Page Guidelines, since it's forbidden even outside Creator/ spaces.

Not A Trope would probably include all the not tropes. There are separate ones for Trivia and YMMV and Flame Bait, and maybe those ones can stay separate, but I also don't see a reason why we couldn't just combine them and the disambig / index issue into one super notifier.

“Not A Trope” would also cover fanspeak pages. We’d get a lot of use out of it.
