Jeffrey Wright is in talks to play Commissioner Gordon in The Batman.

Wow. Will this be the first time the same actor is playing a role in both a Marvel and DC production at the same time? (Wright is going to be the Watcher in What If?)
Jonah Hill is also in talks for The Batman.
The Wrap says it's The Riddler.

I wonder if Wright will reprise the role in a Batgirl movie.

Ooooooh, we're already seeing morsels of a cast brewing!
Jeffery Wright as the Good Commissioner is an unexpected approach. The last time Gordon was interpreted as a POC was, what...The LEGO Batman Movie? Well, they do say it's the best Batman movie, so no complaints.
Jonah Hill as (maybe) The Riddler is also a surprise.
Oh yeah, we still don't know if this new trilogy will be a DCEU thing or a one-off like Joker. In any case, I hope it sticks.

The Batman series essentially being rebooted may be why both Batgirl and the Nightwing spin-off were delayed.
I liked JK Simmons in the Commissioner Gordon role. I really hope they don't replace him. Jonah Hill as Riddler... eh, okay. I'm not crazy about Hill as an actor, but Riddler is my favorite Batman villain and I'm eager to see him again.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Am I the only one who think Jim Carrey did good in the role? I mean I know some of don't like him, but I thought he was the best part of Batman Forever.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThe ship has sailed. We're probably gonna hear about the new Alfred actor next.

Eh, I don't mind switching out Jeremy Irons. Besides, he's already Ozymandias on the Watchmen show.
Ugh. I know the Snyder side of this universe isn't great, but I don't like that they're sweeping it under the rug. Are these supposed to be the same characters, at least? (As in, is RPatz!Batman supposed to be Affleck!Batman?)
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Probably not, if I'm being honest.

Somebody walk me through the continuity here. Is Justice League still canon? Is RPatz!Batman retroactively the one who sends Diana the picture at the beginning of Wonder Woman? Does that mean Batman v. Superman is still canon? Donkey all confused.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?1. Shazam implies that JL is canon.
2. We don't know. I wouldn't be surprised if we see Battinson do that in an end scene or something.
3. We still don't know.
We is all confused, Donkey.

Everything is canon. Some things just happen on different Earths.
The likely answer is that the upcoming movies just aren't gonna reference stuff from BVS and Justice League. Even Aquaman was largely standalone except for a one-off reference to Steppenwolf.

Lupita N'Yongo, Tessa Thompson, Gugu Mbatha-RW, Alexandra Shipp, Logan Browning on shortlist for Catwoman[1]

Huh Catwoman’s gonna be in The Batman & hey all applicants are women of color.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I would like to be hopeful but that list comes from a site with a consistently dubious reputation.

I mean.
They're picking women of color for the role of a morally ambiguous cat burglar.
Catwoman's a role with an ethnicity that could be reassigned easily, but... they picked a literal cat burglar.

I was flabbergasted to discover that Bay directed quite possibly the saddest music video I've ever seen.
