Per Ask The Tropers, this thread will be used to reduce the number of old, poorly written drafts on the Trope Launch Pad
. We don't want to discuss on the drafts themselves because that will bump them and mix them with active proposals.

The first sandbox page above contains drafts proposed in the thread that are still pending and drafts that we've decided to leave alone, either with no action or a bump.
The second sandbox page is for awful drafts but viable ideas. According to moderators, badly written but interesting/tropeworthy drafts should remain on the TLP. Rather than allow low-effort drafts to clog TLP, though, the salvage yard was opened to keep just the ideas behind them, in one place.
On this thread, we will mention which drafts we think are unworkable, add enough bombs, and discard (nuke) them. Discarding requires at least 5 bombs. Among the features of "unworkable" drafts:
- There have been no edits for a very long time, or at all
- The draft is low-effort, containing atrocious spelling and grammar and/or little to no examples, e.g. NEVER saw THAT coming (!), Nut-Chuks
- The draft was seemingly created so the sponsor could complain
- The topic is People Sit on Chairs, Too Rare to Trope, a search query created by mistake, etc. and therefore not tropeworthy
- The topic is already sufficiently covered by one or more tropes or is a duplicate of a better-written TLP draft
- The draft is problematic in other ways, such being closely tied to a page that has been historically problematic, e.g. Fetish Fuel, Complete Monster
- There's no discussion currently occurring in the comments to improve the proposal
If we decide to discard a draft after discussion via this thread, whoever does so must provide the discard reason in the comment section of the draft, for transparency's sake. Those looking at the discards section won't think it was nuked for no reason.
Also, check out the sister project, Trope Adoption Drive, where good drafts put Up for Grabs or abandoned can be grabbed, given a bit more improvement, and launched.

Significant Blue-Eyed Blonde has 23 bombs to 3 hats. Comment consensus appears to be that it's an appearance trope that's likely to just wind up in TRS for being shorthand for "blond(e) protagonist" a la Significant Green-Eyed Redhead.

Bad Luck Protection seems to be redundant now that Bad Luck Mitigation Mechanic exists. The draft hasn't been edited since 2020 and the original OP does not seem to have had any site activity anywhere since 2021.

Did the "Queer Gaze" draft even went through this thread while being discarded? Seems ~Reyn Time 250 just discarded this while explaining the bombs and inactivity as the basis for the discard. Well-intentioned, but still kinda sus of not going to the process of going through this draft.

Thanks for messaging me here, I didn't know about this threads existence as the place to discuss discarding tropes on the TLP. I merely knew that there was a lot of bombs, no discussion was being had, and it seemed as though the whole TLP was resolved at this point with people not believing there's that much of a difference between it and the other Gaze Tropes. I just assumed it was okay to remove it due to those factors.
- Gift From Above: Tropeless draft since its creation in mid-2011, we may or may not already have the trope.

Some drafts I found around page 300 of the TLP:
- Chekhov's Sleight of Hand: No meaningful distinction from the other Chekhov's tropes.
- Exposition MacGuffin: Describing something that by definition can't be a MacGuffin because its specifics are important to the story.
- The First, The Return and The Escape: This is just Stock Subtitle, which was recently TRS'd out of existence.
- Non Sexualized Nudity: Abandoned stub with no examples.
- X Is Off Limits But Y Is Fair Game: Everyone Has Standards.

The first four had already been discarded; I discarded the last one.
- Inventory Control: Stub untouched for over a decade not worth splitting from Bag of Spilling.
- Best Known for the Review: Abandoned stub.
- Inattentive Item Swap: Unfortunate Item Swap has since launched.
- Interleaved Story: As per the comments, seems to be covered by Two Lines, No Waiting and Plot Parallel.
- Mind Touch: Is there anything here not covered by Psychic Link, Mental Fusion, or Touch Telepathy?
- Rare Necessity: The "examples" in the draft are all general, and there was no consensus whether the examples in the comments were actually valid. Untouched for 10 years.
Good Action, Low FPS
is a draft that isn't even a day old yet and already has eleven bombs. It was posted with just a title and laconic (which didn't add anything to the trope description) and no description or examples. I do see some potential in this trope, like the Trope Codifier being Into the Spiderverse, but OP hasn't responded to any feedback nor have they updated the draft. Should we nuke it and start over, or should we wait a bit longer?
