It's been twenty years and I still kinda love Space Jam, to be honest. I even had the junior novelization when I was a kid. Is it the best family film from 1996 that centered on beloved children's characters? No, but very few movies are on Muppet Treasure Island's level and we shouldn't expect them to be.note

I'll probably end up watching the sequel at some point for the nostalgia factor. Le Bron James is actually a pretty good comedic actor, and Ryan Coogler is involved, so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

I like Back In Action far better than Space Jam, but in general, for film-contained stories, I'm of the opinion that Bugs shouldn't be an Invincible Hero who can solve the plot in under 10 minutes.

Having the heroes struggle is a basic rule of good writing for, well, any good piece of deep and worthwhile fiction really.

[up] Have him be against Cecil Turtle for the movie. That'd be a heck of a win!

I wonder if Michael Jordan will make a cameo. Or even better, a cameo by Michael B Jordan, who they mistake for MJ due to the name.

[up] I sincerely hope they don't make a joke like that. I once did my own Michael Jordan/Michael B. Jordan mixup joke in one of my webcomics, and quite a few people said the joke was kinda racist.

It literally was just somebody commenting on Michael B. Jordan, "He was great in Space Jam".

[up] Huh, the joke seems pretty innocent to me, just a Names The Same joke that I've seen done with other same/similar named people.

[up]Which is weird, usually is asian who suffer the whole "look the same" and even michael used a joke in moonwalking in one of is segments.

Also I feel the movie should be cheesy as hell, I mean space jam is very 90, the sequel should hold on that.

I feel sorry you had to be criticized for something as harmless as Names The Same / One-Steve Limit.

Any other ethnicity wouldn't mind.

I also still have this movie sitting somewhere on DVD. I found it pretty enjoyable as a child. And it sure is the only sports movie I could be bothered to watch.

... Wait, the Joker, Pennywise, the Wicked Witch, Agent Smith, and Voldemort are in this movie? Is... is the opposing team composed of WB movie villains? Wait, since when is the Mask a villain?

And these characters are going to play basketball? I suppose I can see someone like the Mask play, but the Wicked Witch?

This is going to be one crazy movie.

More like The LEGO Batman Movie, given nearly all the classic characters mentioned above appeared there.
