Signup Thread

Let me lay down some ground rules for the roleplay here, which will also be present in the signup thread.

1. All TV Tropes rules apply the same here, as always.

2. No ghosting or auto-hitting, as per usual.

3. No godmodding in general. Nobody likes a godmodder.

4. Just in general, don't be horrid. If you want to run something past me to see if it's okay, go ahead! I feel like I'm pretty lenient as a GM, so ask and nine times out of ten you shall receive! If not, we can see if we can compromise.

Also, I will be posting things in terms of worldbuilding from time to time to see your opinion...

Xanadu and Luong keep the number of NP Cs low rather than bringing in more newcomers like DVA there, and I prefer a real tightly staffed game personally. I'd personally love to flesh out Southtown though, I love the way people always riff on it as a weird town where all these white Americans have absurdly thick Japanese accents for no reason.

While I might have a high number of NP Cs, it tends to thin out as time goes on and the tournament progresses, and I want to have everyone represented. Plus, there won't be a million NPC subplots you'll have to worry about either. I'm trying to make it streamlined while also having room for exploration and what not.

Signup thread is up, and on the OP

Thought Southtown could have been founded by Japanese or have been an immigration hotspot for them. Just saying.

Once I'm able to get on Discord, I'll create a server for this RP, especially since I've seen a lot of discussion with peeps on Discord and whatnot.

Do we have an evil corporation yet?

NESTS, who had a thing for messing with genes. They fell a few games ago, but those places have quite a few bugs and it falling probably didn't get rid of everything.

Not to mention, this is Post-XIV, meaning that (at least) Igniz and Krizalid are back, as confirmed in game.

Now, for an actual Devpost.

First off, all sheets look great so far! I will be posting sheets for the guests and a single GMPC in a bit, so look for that soon enough.

Also, Regarding the team created: Marina, Daikon, and Joanie. Since you guys have a team, you need to decide a few things:

1. How did your team come together? Were you pen pals, internet buddies, did you meet at the signup/preliminary area, or something else? I used the specific examples because your characters to all seem to be from different places.
2. Teams often have a unified location and theme, so decide between yourselves which of your locations and themes you want in, or if you want a new one now that you're unified.
3. What's your team name, or do you not really care?

I'll take this last little area to list off some teams, both ones already confirmed and confirming some new ones.

• Unnamed Team: Marina, Daikon, Joanie
• Japan Team: Kyo, Benimaru, Shingo (Daimon is staying back to be there for his family, as there has been an increase in crime or some other small but important reason.)
• Ikari Team: Ralf, Clark, Whip
• Riot Containment Team: Leona, Iori, Adel
• New Faces Team: Chris, Yashiro, Shermie
• South Town Team: Geese, Kazumi, Hein
• Second South Town Team: Billy Kane, Yamazaki, Lilly Kane (I didn't like the idea of Gaidel being hired by Geese, I felt like it was just an excuse to have him in. Lilly Kane is in her Maximum Impact incarnation.)
• Fatal Fury Team: Andy, Mai, Joe
• Garou Team: Terry, Rock, (Mary, Jenet, Or Tizoc?)

Two questions as well.

1. Ash is still alive, but is he a colossal dickweed still or has he gotten a bit more heroic after his goals were achieved? Also, does he still have the Yata Mirror's abilities?

2. I don't know if I'm going to include him, but if so, which Tizoc persona do you guys wanna see? Tizoc the Griffon (acts Face) or King Of Dinosaurs (acts Heel)?

Hey guys, I hate to kill the vibe, but I'm going to put this on hiatus for a bit. Some personal stuff came up, and I've got to take a break from pretty much the whole of TV Tropes. Sorry!

I don't know the opinion of Taco and emilyorthoclase yet, but these are my feelings on the situation:

1) I feel that we met up at the signups/preliminaries, though this needs to be confirmed with Taco and orthoclase on Discord.

2) I would like either Marina's skatepark (to fit the "fighters on wheels" aesthetic) or a new location, but let's wait for the votes to come in.

3) We talked it out on Discord already and we're going to be called Team Wheels of Fortune (since we're all on wheels).

And take your time! I can wait.

Yeah, take your time. Wheels of Fortune Team sounds good to me. Personally I think that RP'ing the team out in the game would be cool too. I had the idea of them all meeting at the same bus stop or someplace all headed to the tournament, and in the game itself starting at least our set of characters there could instigate that.

Assuming everyone interested has created a sheet, I'll launch... sometime within the next 24-36 hours, give or take.

I am now internally debating putting Gato and Carmine- I mean Freeman on Second Southtown Team, putting Mary on Fatal Fury Team, and making a Lilly Team: Lilly Kane, Billy Kane, and Joe Higashi.

Seriously, though, I should (finally) have my character sheets for the guests (and one OC GMPC because why not) up... sometime before game start and/or right afterwards.

So, a punk skateboarder, a cyborg rollerskater, a martial artist cop, and a somewhat rebellious traditional schoolgirl are in this. The hype is real!

The OP is up in all of it's short, semi-sloppy glory, for your roleplaying enjoyment!

I will keep signups open until the tournament actually begins, then I will close them off.

Also, since we never got around to discussing teams for Gabe, I sent a couple of Metal Slug reps his way, and since I started him out without signups or an invitation, I set the American Sports Team nearby to them as well.

Every now and then, you wonder if they should just hang over their invitations and save themselves the trip to IC at this point. But then again, they are fighters.

I do want the AST to show up later on, but I also want the gag to keep going, so they'll have to enter the hard way: Latecomer prelims.
