The That Guy with the Glasses pages are noted for being excessively gushy, long, and with a ton of content, so rather than clog the gushing threads I decided we could have a single thread to collaborate and keep track of progress on what needs to be done.

One example is Lindsay Ellis, who had a creator page as herself made just a week ago despite moving on from The Nostalgia Chick years ago, so many wicks will need to be added and moved.

Here's the page's folders for convenience!

I’ve edited the Demo Reel YMMV and main pages. I’ll work on the other things I enjoy and edit more.

Given recent events, gushing likely won't be the only issue we have to deal with. This Is Gonna Suck...

BTW, everything relayed to YCPT was already permalocked over drama importation and ROCEJ garbage. Yes, I said everything.

I'm not familiar with that second acronym, what does it refer to?

Also, while much of what I said has already been said in the Gushing Removal Thread on this subject, I am beginning to think we need a specific term and rule about Ongoing Shows, because those seem to attract truly undue amounts of troping.

[up] I posted a long-Term projects thread on that but no one's responded. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=15231229220A01062700&page=1#1

What really counts as "undue troping" though? Especially as web shows know of tropes and CA people read this site a lot (negatively and positively). I'll sort out the out of date stuff on Critic though, as he's had a lot of eras.

[up][up][up]WebVideo.You Can Play This.

Long story short, people didn't understand the concept of Never Speak Ill of the Dead, so the mods clamped down for them.

What do we do with the entries that don't have their own page to begin with?

You mean on the TGWTG page? They can be transferred to Critic pages, Atop The Fourth Wall, anniversary pages, they usually belong somewhere.

[up][up][up] No, I recognized that one- I got in some edits before it was locked, and that are still there. (And saw the edits people made that got it locked...)

I meant that other acronym. And what do you mean by "Never Speak Ill of the Dead"? The edits I saw were generally quite (Understandably) hostile to Justin.

Oh...I forgot BTW was a given [lol]. ROCEJ means Rule Of Cautious Editing Judgement. Edit : [nja]

2nd edit: Yes, hence why I said people couldn't understand that concept. Also, Flame Bait is Flame Bait, whether the subject is dead or alive. Being dead just makes it worse.

Well now I'm just confused. I will say though that the edits were generally awfully worded, tawdry, and factually inaccurate- more than enough reason to lock the page.

Somehow the HarsherInHindsight. The Nostalgia Critic page is gushy, with one entry being "He made a bad joke but others have done worse since then."

Also Go Set A Watchman is an AU, not a proper sequel.

I removed that one for being dumb, but I think the rest are okay? Some of it is character stuff and some of it is reality.

[up][up] What're you referring to there, with regards to "Go Set a Watchman"?

[up] " In his review of Bridge to Terabithia, the Critic explains that if one of the kids from To Kill a Mockingbird died, for example, that would have been more effective because they were children with realistic personalities, compared to the cardboard cutouts in Bridge to Terabithia. This becomes much sadder once we learn that Jem died before the events of Go Set a Watchman."

EDIT: Hoo boy is the Heartwarming. The Nostalgia Critic gushy.

"The sheer amount of cuddly toys he owns makes him moe as hell."

I'll tone it down, but it's a heartwarming page. Can't really delete what people connect to if it's not factually wrong?

[up][up] You know that one also is more than a bit frustrating, given that some people- such as myself- do not see those kids as being two-dimensional cliches. So at best it's a moment reliant on insulting other people's opinions.

Generally I think those are pretty poor moments to use for Heartwarming and such.

I've taken off not factual stuff (like Doug got upset at people thinking Hyper was being nice) but can you really judge what people find heartwarming if it's what happened?

It feels mean-spirited, I mean. I feel like mean-spirited content on a Heartwarming Moments page is a bit counter-intuitive.

Oh the Terabithia bit is on Harsher, not heartwarming?

I dunno if this is the right place to bring this up or not, but I've been noticing people removing links to the Nostalgia Critic's reviews from places such as the So Bad, It's Horrible pages for example.

I'm not touching the entries for now because I don't know for sure what to do about it, but I am just wondering if they should actually be removed from these pages in light of the Channel Awesome Implosion and Doug's actions relating to them.

"Pardon me, that extremely loud and extremely deep voice you may have just heard. It was me. Oh, it is such a long story..."
