Phone post, won't be on for real until much later tonight. Jumping Fruit, take a look at the large item in my signup; that's why she would think his name is Nick.
You are reading this.I sent a message to Juping Fruit explaining the Nick-ness of the coat.
Well, I think that's more than long enough to have waited on an edit, so there's a post.
... The "Nick-ness" of the coat, heh.
You are reading this.Yay! Progress! post 68 on the rpg thread was based on I Ms that Yam sent me, so right now I'm waiting on Yam's response to know what she's doing with Deputy Sonny.
Entering the garage, you''ll be behind a wall of tools and parts, blocking your view of Sonny and Sylvia but holding the unconscious body of Mortimer the mechanic where Sylvia moved him. Up to Mortimer, this is a [[green;green]] zone. You can flee immediately (no pulls), peek around the corner (1 pull), flee with Mortimer (2 pulls), or try to wake Mortimer for more information. Any fail on these pulls will result of Deputy Sonny becoming aware of you and then you will be in a yellow zone.
Note: The number of pulls and the negative 'bad stuff' of failure is provided to help you determine what you want to do. The number of pulls is NOT final, as I will adjust the number of pulls and the consequences of failure based on clever roleplay. If any player wants, he or she can IM the GM and let me know if you want to 'go out in a blaze of glory' and I'll try to arrange a suitably dramatic death for a character that will help the party and reset the table I'm using for my pulls.
Quick phone post, sorry I don't think I'll be able to make a real post today, don't have the time to. I am still thrown off at how much you're hinting at the possibility of a character dying while we're literally in the first day and starting town.
It is very much so like you're still not being honest about how much you want to kill off our characters.

You are reading this.Hello
Sorry, but for various reasons, I won't be participating in the RP.
So sorry, meant to have that post up way earlier tonight, but I got caught up with some other things. Luckily I didn't have a bed time tonight, so there we have a post shortly before I'll be going for the night.
You are reading this.Ok, Yam made two pulls to bluff and distract the deputy.
Yam's character now has the RV keys but Deputy Justice will be actively hostile to her; Sylvia should either leave town as quickly as possible or try to actively hide from Sonny. For Sylvia, Sonny is now a walking yellow zone.
You all can go to the RV but it will take a pull to start the RV and leave without Sonny noticing immediately. Taking Mortimer with you will take an additional pull. Current risk of failure: 13%, and I think I'll put a 'soft' lock at 15%. To give you an idea of what that means in probability, the odds off rolling a six-sided dice and getting a one is approximately 17%
Ok, the table is now at 15 pulls. Also, please don't feel like you have to do any of the options I list. I like listing options to give players an idea what they can do, but the world is your sandbox. I had one campaign where a player tried to summon an Cthulu like monster. Feel free to try anything you want.
Oh, I didn't realize the RV was outside. I thought it was inside the garage and that we'd still have to get past Sonny to get to it.
You are reading this.-scrolls back and looks through the story thread-
Whoops, I never said where the RV was, I just pictured it outside. Sylvia indicated it was inside the garage.
Ok, GM handwave, Mort parked the RV out of the garage and came back into the garage, and THAT'S when Sonny hit him with the rock.
Ok, so it looks like the group is to 'just go'.
The next town to the west is New Whirthersfield, then you can go south west to Uroborosville (swamps) or north west to ? (Don't have a town name yet)
Jeremy's current plan is to actually stop shortly outside of town and then wake up Mortimer to see if he actually wants to come with us or not. And whether he's normal or like the other townsfolk, for that matter...
You are reading this.Sorry, I should've mentioned before that I wouldn't be able to post yesterday. I'll try to post today, but I have other things I need to do and not a lot of time to be online, so I can't promise it.
I will be able to post tomorrow though.
You are reading this.If you try to wake Mortimer and fail, Mortimer will die and I'll reset the table.
Something just occurred to me. In the first post of the RP you describe that the Last Station is so named because there's no gas station for 200 miles. At 60 MPH, that would take over three hours, so...
Either the Springfield folk lied, (which wouldn't surprise me) or that town two hours away doesn't have a gas station.
EDIT: Oh by the way, I'm not going to be able to post again until Monday.

You are reading this.As the GM, I'll go ahead and say the next town doesn't have a gas station. It's basically a post office and convenience store where the road forks, one branch going toward the swamp and one northward into more dry desert. If you want t know how a swamp can be mostly surrounded by desert... -GM shrug-
ok, right now you're in a bit of downtime after seeing your first mini-boss (Deputy Sonny T. Justice). Let me know if there's something you want to do before skipping ahead to entering the next town.
If you want to search the trailer for something speciffic (a weapon, a tool, a secret stash of diamonds), just let me know. I'll either disallow it), allow it, or do a 'pull' for it. Since just searching (carefully) a moving vehicle is not something normally risky for passengers, then a failed pull won't trigger a character death. HOWEVER, since I believe pulls should have consequences, I *will* be moving the soft lock. That means each successful pull will add a number to my list. Right now the list of numbers that trigger a failed pull is 15, so you have an 85% chance of success. Each time I record a pull, the odds go down 1%.
Why did you mention the gas gauge twice, and in ways that sound a bit contradictory?
You are reading this.Oops, I went back and fixed it. Sorry for putting the information in twice, I think I must have gone back up to edit the little part about how Fork got the name, then went back and added the last line,
The fuel situation is you have enough (barely) to go back to Last Station, or you can try to keep going west. Feel free to get creative.
ಠ_ಠ
Um. What?
You are reading this.-fixes the typo-
Sorry, been having real life issues and also plans about my birthday, which is technically today, coming up. I won't be able to post for certain until Monday.
You are reading this.Happy belated birthday, mine is this Thursday.
No one has died yet so I won't reset the table.Right now, there's a 89% chance of success for the next pull.
