The monsters being referred to as "humans" is definitely an interesting bit to me. I'm looking forward to seeing where they go with this.
I hope this game isn't too intensive on PC.
RIP anyone that wanted to date the Pink Haired fox girl that gives you the Brawler archetype.

Watch SymphogearAll this is going to accomplish is even thirstier fanfic.
i. hear. a. sound.Yes imagine the game from the Persona creators having Personas in it.
Yeah honestly with how much this game is selling itself as "Challenging the fantasy genre" the fact that the Player Character looks like a platonic distillation of JRPG heroes feels kinda disappointing. When Drakengard stopped trying to trick you into thinking it was a regular Dark Fantasy story and embraced the batshittery we got one of the most entertaining protags ever just saying.
At least he talks? That's a plus.
The pain. The pain.

Bleye knows Sabers.Thank you for reminding me how much I miss my boy Caim.
i. hear. a. sound.Caim was great, yes.
"In the game all you do is murder hundreds of people at once with various dangerous implements, so we are going to give this guy has the sort of personality that would fit someone who repeatedly throws themselves into situations where they have to murder hundreds of people at once with various dangerous implements."
Bleye knows Sabers.Ah murderhobos...
And he still ended up in a tragic love story with a human hating dragon who he sought to Mercy Kill after she gave her life for the world for his sake.
And he’s grossed out by incest too lol.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. We definitely don't need every protag to be like Caim (or Zero), but it sure would be nice if there were more.
To keep it on topic, a Persona-influenced game with a protag who is uNcLeAn would be kind of amazing.
i. hear. a. sound.I think the big thing I'm looking forward to how they handle it is the combat system. It seems like they're doing a similiar thing to The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak where the 'action' part of the combat is mostly reserved for wiping out trash enemies or taking the advantage on field encounters. However, THAT game also didn't feature the action combat at all during boss fights, so I wonder if perhaps it'll be better integrated here.
I'm already imagining something like you're fighting a boss in the turn-based mode, beat phase 1, then have to fight it in action mode in phase 2/1.5 and then switch back to turn based for the third round. It'll all really depend how in-depth the action combat will be compared to the turn-based one.

Oh also, sorry to doublepost, but it has been confirmed that the Follower/Social Link system in the game will NOT feature romance whatsoever.
I already posted that earlier.
Watch SymphogearI saw some speculation on reddit that, because the protagonist seems to be a semi-defined character already, the lack of romance in the s.links is due to them having a static love interest.
An alternative to that is going the Persona 2 route: There ARE romance options, but they're not based on social links and instead just based on choices you make during the main story.
Either way, I think both are prefferable to what we have in newer Persona gamse.
Those still did not amount to literally anything.
A story related romance like The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky can actually give proper build up and payoff in the game. There is a certain scene in Sky SC that remains one of my fav scenes in all of video games and there is no way it could have been pulled off using P2 or P3 styles.

I am so tired of teenage boy fashion model protagonists.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.
