It's one of the rare stories that actually makes Humans Are the Real Monsters not feel contrived. Yeah, it's still preachy about it, but that's very deliberate and ties into the Buddhist themes.

It's a rare story indeed that makes the end of any last trace of humanity which is portrayed throughout as a corrupting influence so uplifting.

I cried at the last 2 pages. I still have a lot of criticism for how most of the stuff in the latter half of the manga happened but man, this hurt so good.
