Needs Help: Administrivia.Images Without A Source

Go To

Here's the place to inquire about pages whose images aren't potholed to anything.

Google Image Search, Tineye, and SauceNAO are good resources.

Images Without a Source lists the pages that have been discussed in this thread but haven't been sourced yet. Once a source is found for an image, please add it to the appropriate Image Source pagenote  and remove it from Images Without a Source.

About Images and Copyright covers our general policies about image use; see here for more details and Image Pickin' forum policies. It's always a good idea to link images to their original versions and (when available) providing a link to the artist's site when they are located, especially if we're given permission to use an image.note

     Old OP
There's quite a few Images Without a Source that could be replaced by spending just a few minutes in an art or spreadsheet program. This would be much easier than trying to track them down or finding a replacement.

Edit: Black Box, Blown Across the Room, Double Jump, The End, Friday Night Death Slot, Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics, Horny Vikings, Rump Roast, Stock Femur Bone, Surprise Slide Staircase, Treasure Map, and Visible Silence have been replaced.

On Gave Up Too Soon, there is a link to the original image in the caption, but the image itself doesn't have a source link embedded in it, and there's no listing of it on any Image Source page.

Noble Wolf:

Image Picking Thread says its Dnd 5e concept art, but I don't think that's right, the poster is just using it to illustrate their own concept?

https://www.reddit.com/r/3d6/comments/hal9g5/help_with_a_character_design_for_my_gf/

Dn D 5e is from 2014, 6 years older than the reddit post, and I can't find any reputable source for the image at all. Nevermind anything that calls it from Hasbro or anything.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Editions_of_Dungeons_%26_Dragons#Dungeons_&_Dragons_5th_edition

[down] - Yep! Thanks for summarizing my idea better!

[up] I think it's "concept art" in the sense of "you can use this as a visual reference for your D&D character" and not "concept art" as in "this was made by WOTC for use in D&D but was ultimately not used/replaced". So it's probably either someone's fanart or a stock image of a druid and thus not actually kosher.

I found the source for Color-Coded Wizardry which is here:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/fallentomato/2785311109

I've added accreditation to the caption as it is released under CC BY-NC-SA 2.0 DEED

I've also upgraded the image quality whilst I was on because it had been a bit blurry

Here's the old version:

Where is Chiptune from? It was added to the page in early 2011, and I can't find anything older. Is it possibly troper-made? The user who added it, Mattonymy is still occasionally active, so I'm wondering if I should try sending them a DM.

Picture name implies that it's a photo of https://www.parliament.uk/about/living-heritage/transformingsociety/electionsvoting/womenvote/parliamentary-collections/ladies-gallery-grille/grille-incident/

The Photo itself seems to be a variant of: https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-suffragette-chained-to-railings-35524457303-o-171932493.html

Which calls itself public domain.

...

https://stockholmcentre.org/helen-fox-railings/ - But nothing confirming that it's really Helen Fox.

[up]

A suffragette, probably Helen Fox, symbolically chained to railings, London. The empty street suggests the photograph may have been staged. The suffragettes exploited photography and the media to keep their campaign in the public eye. Photo courtesy of The Women’s Library Collection / LSE Library.

Hmm...good to know, thanks. I was wondering if we could look for a replacement anyway, since I don't think it's intuitive that she's really "blocking" anything.

[up] Tineye seems to suggest it's an officially-licensed wall poster. The fan wiki also categorizes it as merchandise; a logo for Trends International can be seen in the lower left, and an unreadable yet still apparent copyright is visible on the lower right.
