So I have an idea for having a SHIELD/Checkmate type organization send a representative to Detective Chimp's private eye office in the city and ask him to get them some info on one or all of the heroes currently in-play. Do you guys think that would work? If so, I can go ahead and get to work on a post.

I think that would be fun. If no one else is down, I'd be down for a chimp stalker.[lol]

Also, Sijo, if you approve it, would you want me to roleplay the exchange or did you want to? I'm fine either way.

I want to point out that Checkmate and SHIELD are different agencies. SHIELD is international while Checkmate is domestic (also the former is more heroic than the latter.) Other than that sure, go ahead. As long as you don't do anything major without consulting me, its OK.

nman: I did have Skype at one point, don't know if I still have the program. I'm mostly a discord user nowadays. Still, if it'll help, I could try and re-download the thing.

SHIELD/Checkmate: Hm. Maybe I should shift Eden over to the same organisation. In the Malibu comics, of course, Aladdin was the big government agency to do with superheroes. But if I'm properly drawing him/her into the universe, I ought to get them into the more official place. Might edit my first post to include whatever organisation sends Detective Chimp.

Hm, I had it so that Wonder Woman is already "monitored" by the U.S. government, so I'd assume that SHIELD could just ask the right department for some information if they wanted it. They'd have her basic abilities in a file somewhere, at least.

Angela rode into town on a giant severed alien head that got buried in the street where we're at right now, in case any government types want to investigate spooky alien shit.

I must admit both Marvel and DC's government agencies were... kind of a mess, because they invented a lot of them, and had them do questionable activities. I'm trying to untangle all of those here. But in general, assume that a) there's one agency for every specific purpose and b) all are at least a little bit shady.

Oh and since the game's barely starting, feel free to edit stuff (but let me know first.)

[up]@Hijo: If it's OK with everyone else, is giving Jessica Jones Origin Story a Retcon - more specifically a Rewrite, so it makes sense, (following The Stations of the Canon; parents killed in accident, adopted by Dorothy Walker with her daughter Trish) acceptable? (I've taken the Kilgrave thing out, but I'm inexperienced with roleplaying so forgive my mistakes... - I've a tendency to bring things in from my private fanfics into characterization on here. (I did have one private Alternate Continuity Jessica Jones fanfic that never saw public fan fic sites like Archive of Our Own, which was a la Just Imagine... Stan Lee Creating the DC Universe (that probably explains why Jessica was In Name Only).

Sorry for the Wall of Text.

[lol]You keep calling me "Hijo". You *are* aware that means "Son" in Spanish (which is my native language), don't you?

Anyway: by virtue of this being a shared universe, there *are* going to be differences, sooner or later. That's why I established that at the very least, every character from both universes must exist, and their origins must be the same- but we can go anywhere from there. Let's think about Jessica Jones: what are the basics in her case? She's a gruff private detective, with super powers. That's it. She's not as iconic as say, Superman. Most people would not know about her background, or that she used to be Jewel, or even that she was raped. So none of that is necessary. You *might* want to toughen her up a little, but that is par for the course for detectives, you don't need to be an ***hole to be one.

As I said, I would like it if she were/or once was Jewel, but that's up to you. Also, allowing her to live in New York facilitates team ups.

Leaving the exact names of the list of heroes that Bobo received a mystery (except for Boom Boom) to make room for future story hooks. Maybe the other heroes could help him track down some of the more villainous names? Just an idea.

For the record, I've decided that the only (public) antiterrorist agencies will be Shield and Checkmate (who will be rivals.) There are more but they're secret. So far I've only determined that Task Force X is one of them.

[up] @Sijo: The spellchecker on my browser wasn't a good one, fixed that (for some reason).

Anyway, Jessica Jones will be moving to NYC soon for the Story Arc, at some point later this week (and I'm going to try and change the character personality a bit, but equally I don't want her to be a Hate Sink for everyone).

As it was, originally i was going to have Barry Allen/ The Flash, but would he have been a Story-Breaker Power with his Super-Speed? He would almost have been close to the canon version as seen in Series. The Flash 2014 with the origin story.

Any Power Level is welcome here- from Forbush-Man to The Spectre. Just remember the game rules: no autohitting (you can *try* anything, but only the othe player can decide how their character is affected) and the GM can provide challenges or limitations as needed. So in general, do what the comics do: use common sense.

Continuing on the subject of Hi-Tech organizations, I've decided that Hydra is behind every other similar organization- after all, they have "many arms" meaning specialized branches: for example, AIM develops their technology, HIVE trains foot soldiers, etc. Each such organization however runs mostly independently, with its own leaders; Hydra just provides funding. This is not public knowledge though SHIELD knows about it.

What about the Hand and the League? Are they enemies? Allies? Linked? (I personally like the idea that the Hand and the League hate each other, but can't go into all out war because it would wipe them both out)

The way I see it, The Hand (and most other Assassin groups) are part of the League. And Ra's Al Ghul is The Boss.

Not that everyone is happy about that, mind you. Fu Manchu (yes, he canonically exists in Marvel) is his biggest rival.

[up]You know that reminds me; the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen were once upon a time technically published by DC. Does that mean they count too?

Only if they were at any point incorporated into their universe. Just publishing a comic doesn't count; otherwise, Tarzan would count.

So what's going on in the game right now?

My various fanfics.

1) Captain America, Boom-Boom and Riri Williams battled AIM and The Super-Adaptoid and won. They're just hanging out in front of the NY Hall of Science right now.

2) In a nearby street Wonder woman, Angela, Spider-Woman (the Gwen one) and The Thorn are fighting Artume and her Bacchae. Angela is being cured of hydra poisoning. Checkmate agents are on the way.

3) Detective Chimp spotted The Hood walking across the sky.

[up][up][up]Ah. Though this did get me thinking. Deaths Head is a character that been shown to exist in the MU, right? Well, as it turns out, Deaths Head also made appearances in a number of licensed comics such as Transformers and Doctor Who thanks to Timey-Wimey Ball shenanigans before showing up in the MU proper. Nevermind that Transformers and the Doctor apparently also made appearances in the MU at one point or another. Does this mean that the Transformers and DW technically count? Because if so, that would be fucking awesome.

[up]Wait, what? I thought we were still fighting AIM. Cap was still charging into them last time I checked.I haven't made a post for the last couple of days because I've been waiting for a follow-up to that. Or did I just miss something? (Which is entirely possible.)
