My workspace is littered with half-finished projects, because I've been so busy with work that I've mostly not had the time or energy to get things finished. I've mostly just done baby-step achievements in my many ongoing projects, while the few things I have mostly completed haven't been published on Deviantart yet, because some days it's too much effort to make picture collages, as I do plenty of photo and video editing at my job.
Anyhow, one of my projects deals with tabletop terrain inspired by Ashenvale and other Night Elven territories in Warcraft. So lots of vaguely Greco-Roman ruins covered in purple-tinted vegetation.
Double-post: Two other recent terrain-pieces are this Symbol of Auril I made for D&D, as well as a cavern with glowing mushrooms made from LED-lights.

& They all look great, especially the Ashenvale scenery.
Thanks! Here is another piece I finished recently: Modular terrain built from pastry-cups.
Cool idea.
More Warcraft, with a cheap toy pirate turned into the demon lord Archimonde the Defiler. This could double as a Daemon Prince of Tzeentch, too.
Nice. I like the verdigris effect on the armour. I tend to go a bit overboard on that with my Nurgle miniatures.
Thanks! I used Green Stuff World's neon-green ink for that, along with several thin layers of Retributor Armour and Ikea's gold paint. Ikea's neon acrylics are surprisingly good paints, at least for very bright magical effects.
Double-post: Another custom miniature inspired by Warcraft, a Mountain Giant made from Play-doh.
Nice Looks a bit like a Discworld Troll.
Thanks! Yeah, he kinda does. The same material could be used for a WH Stone Troll, if you want the skin to look cracked like actual rock, though it might be difficult to get scales from it.
Finally got around to taking pictures of the models I've painted so far this year. Here is a 10 man Blood Angels Tactical Squad for Horus Heresy. I really need to speed up my panting as these guys took me months to paint.
Those look really cool! I like that vermillion shade of red and how it contrasts with the golden-bronze details.
Thanks
Here is something for Old World, a Black Orc Bigboss with Shield. The axe is a bit bend because of 'Fine'cast though.
I quite like that turquoise-leaning shade of dark green for his skin.
Thanks. I was actually going for darker but liked how it ended up.
Double post for my Mordheim Rat Ogre that I have finally got around to painting after all these years.
Nice! That is one of the best rat ogres ever sculpted. I have it myself, but have yet to paint it to my satisfaction.
ThanksIt's one of my favourite Rat Ogres as well (the original, three-armed Boneripper is my favourite)
I'm thinking of painting that Rat Ogre with gray skin, slightly darker than Rakarth Flesh, and black fur. Overall, I want to paint my Skaven/Ratkin with a gray-ish skintone and dark fur. I also have some bits left over from Mantic's equivalent of a Rat Ogre, which I intend to use for kitbashing my own custom version of the original Boneripper.
Grey skin would probably fit with a Rat Ogre bought by Clan Eshin.
Double post for a repainted Lokhust Destroyer
That's a noticeable improvement. The different shades on the various parts make it look like an actual machine.
Otherwise, the design on this model isn't one I particularly like. The Lokhust Destroyer looks half-finished, like it's an add-on to a tank sold separately. That's how I would use it, because the model would look like an excellent tank-commander peaking up.
Thanks. My first batch of Necrons were painted back before their revamp when I had far less interest in the faction so didn't put as much effort into them as I could have done at the time. I just need to get repainting them quicker rather than once in a while.
Thanks.
If it doesn't warm up enough to do some spray undercoating, I have a number of models that I have been meaning to rebase (such as changing my Orks from long grass to snowy rubble) that I can do instead.
