Finished the Necron Lord. Its staff design has always bugged me, so I decided to make it a bit more like a Warscythe...still can't paint those blades for shit, though.
Looks good, believe me I have seen a lot worse when it comes to blades like that. The photo makes it look like he has a slight paunch though
Heh...yeah, he does, doesn't he?
Here is the Watcher in the Dark who accompanies my Deathwing Knights, one of whom I posted last week. I am very happy how it turned out.
It did turn out well; nice job on the lettering.
Thanks
Well it wasn't that difficult as they are moulded on the sword so you only need a light touch across the top.
Double Post for my latest models.
Due to my inability to focus on a single project it took me ten months but I have finally finished my first unit for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, my Deathrattle Skeleton Warriors. Now I just need a load more of them and I should have a usable army....in a couple of years.
Those are awesome!
I feel you on the focus issue. I'm bouncing back and forth between the Ghost Ark and a Terminator squad that's been gathering dust for the better part of a year, and am trying to figure out where to start with my Legion of the Damned.
Thanks
I had a terrible time again today trying to figure out what to start painting next. On my immediate to do list I have (amongst other things): a Venerable Dreadnought that I got for my birthday but cannot decide which Chapter to paint it as; A Captain for my Black Wings Chapter; a Black Guardian Squad for my Ulthwé Strike Force/Ynnari Eldar; Genestealers; the final six Scout Bikes to finish the squad for my Scythes of the Emperor Marines; and (like you) a squad of Legion of the Damned. In the end though I went with an Astropath for my Astra Militarum Command HQ/Adeptus Astra Telepathica Imperial Agents Detatchment, mainly because I hadn't painted one before.

I have finished my Astropath. I like how he turned out all in all (even if his staff is a little bent). The grey of my Astra Militarum colours works better with the traditional Astropath green than I thought it would.
That did turn out well...nice subtle highlights on the robe.
Thanks. I do like how the robes turned out in general.
Welp. The test miniature of my Iron Warriors is almost finished. Just needs a final wash, then highlighting. After that I'll put a transfer on and then onto weathering.

You need to re-shoot that, the camera focused on the background and not the model...the color pattern looks cool from what I can tell, though.
Just about done with my Legion of the Damned. Ordered the multi-melta and heavy flamer Legionnaires, a Destroyer kit, and the Heavy Destroyer and Destroyer Lord upgrades.
Camera's in a phone that is from 2009/2010. There's no way to get it to focus on the minis.
I've taken worse pics of my models. From what I can see, you've done a good job of the scheme, simple but effective.
Thanks. I'm waiting on the Vallejo paints to come in at my FLGS so I can get more gold to make the trim better. Currently its just P3 Molten Bronze.
Also, the Iron Warriors colour scheme is very simple anyways, aside from the hazard stripes
Finished my Legion of the Damned, minus the models that I recently ordered. These pics are kinda dark so I may reshoot them tomorrow afternoon when there's more ambient light in the room.
I didn't have much fun painting this kit and basically just slapped the paint on. Gonna bounce back and forth between a Terminator squad that's about half done and the Ghost Ark which I've started basecoating.the center sections of.
They look very nice, especially the flame effect. The only minor criticism I have is that the blade of the combat knife looks a little rough, it would probably have look slightly better if you had done it the same as the metal parts of the bolters.
Yeah, that definitely could use some work...I'll go back and hit the edge of the blade with Runefang Steel and maybe give the body of the blade a coat of Nuln Oil. IIRC I used Ironbreaker for the edge and straight Leadbelcher for the body.

As it is the Legion you could try giving it a red tinge to represent their flames, that is what I was thinking of doing with mine when I get around to painting them.
Hmmmm...that's a good idea, I'll play around with that. I was thinking about trying to do some flame effects on the bases but I didn't like the tests I did so I abandoned that idea.
Reshot the LotD pics. Decided to just do a straight repaint of the knife blade instead of any fancy effects, and I added a touch of yellow to the sergeant's eyes and a bit of red glaze around the sockets for a bit of a glow effect.
Ooh, nice.
