The Wii emulator on the Wii U can technically still play GCN discs, but the Wii U's disc drive can't physically accept the GCN mini discs. And while you can use a GCN controller on the Wii U thanks to the adaptor, it has no way to save games since you can't plug in a memory card.
There's less than legal ways to fix this, but just out of the box you can't.

Found a neat video about obscure TTYD stuff, including new passengers on the Excess Express.
I'm going through another run of the original game. I used a POW Block in a battle with a flying enemy and it somehow affected them. Aren't POW Blocks only supposed to hit ground and ceiling enemies?
The TTYD remake is coming on May 23rd!

In 64 and TTYD it hits all onscreen enemies even if they fly. Sticker Star and on corrected the mechanic.

You don't think it's worth fifty dollars?
As a principle? No. No game that came out 5-6 years ago is worth sixty dollars to me unless there's significant upgrades, and that's a slippery slope.

Two interesting things I've heard of is that there's going to be remixes of the main battle theme for each area and some themes have had leitmotifs from The Origami King added in.

I wonder if they'll increase the paper-y-ness in some way. The trailers are making a large deal of it.

I'm most excited about the concept art, especially potential concepts for the Shadow Queen. (I remember before TTYD came out in English i found a fan-translated script for the Japanese version and read the whole thing cause I was very excited.)
Also less backtracking, which diluted my enjoyment of replaying the Gamecube one a while back.

Nintendo re-released a few Gamecube games on the Wii. Pikmin 1 and 2, Mario Power Tennis, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Metroid Prime 1 and 2 (as part of the Trilogy collection), and maybe some others I don't know. So its not like re-releases were non-existent.
