The question is more if it will make a billion....which I don't think it will. With Jungle Book coming out this weekend, it will take a hit at the box office again, and while Civil war won't be out until May in the US, it will be out around April 28 in most countries, kicking Bv S from the top five lists more or less everywhere. Not to mention that it is entirely possible that Zootopia will actually beat out Bv S this weekend, pushing it to place five.
First The Force Awakens (it was released in the middle of December, so...) Zootopia, and The Jungle Book, and in few weeks Civil War...
Man, there's practically no competition for Disney this year. That's not good. D:
At least last year Universal Studios kicked some serious ass in box office.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.I wonder how well the new Avatar movies and Fast 8 will do.
Well, Alice through the looking glass might slow Disney down a little bit....I have the feeling that the fanbase for that one might be smaller than expected. But I wouldn't equally not be surprised if Disney sets a new record by the end of the year, with Doctor Strange and Rogue one still waiting in the woodworks.
I also wouldn't be surprised if Civil war beats out The Avengers now that the reviews are out and everyone is all over the movie.
As a Bv S fan discussing THAT movie online's sure going to be pleasant.
Don't forget Finding Dory.
Did anyone expect the first one to pass $1 billion?

Peace is the only battle worth waging.tracking was lower than a billion, but the expectations were really high. Though some fans went overboard when they expected Star Wars numbers. But more or less everyone expected that it would do better than any batman movie so far with Superman and Wonder Woman in the mix, and there certainly was a hope for Avengers numbers. I have gotten crap for months by pointing out that the names won't be enough if the movie is not good and that in the end the respective quality of the movies will decide if Bv S or Civil war does more at the box office. I guess we will now never know if the Trinity has more weight than all the Avengers plus Spider-man.....
I am not excited for Finding Dory, but considering how popular Finding Nemo was, this is yet another safe bet for Disney, and then there is Moana, which will get attention due to the fact that it is a Disney Princess movie alone.

He was asking about the Avengers.
Ups, sorry. Nah, The Avengers was one of the "big risks which a lot of people thought will never work" movie. But after the Avengers, the expectations for Age of Ultron were high.
I was asking about the first Alice in Wonderland.
Peace is the only battle worth waging.Yeah, that's the reason I am not sure about Through the Looking glass. Most people seemed to dislike the first one, but it does have a fanbase.
It was a decent movie in terms of its audiovisual presentation (i especially like the card-soldiers), but burton's shtick had been worn pretty thin at that point and the plot was just mediocre. Anne Hathaway was great tho
I felt that the biggest problem was that it wanted a cohesive story which more or less goes against everything Alive in Wonderland is.
Batman v Superman is the second film of 2016 to reach the all-time Top 50.
Peace is the only battle worth waging. The first was Zootopia, right? Which is still in the top 5...that is fairly impressive, with Jungle book opening big this weekend, there is a real rival in its niche now. Disney must be celebrating. At this rate they will be way ahead of everyone else before the first half of the year is even over.
I've been wrong before, but I don't think the Avatar sequel will do nearly as well in the box office. Like, I hardly anyone talk about Avatar anymore. Even the Hatedom seemed to have moved on.
Yeah it was an utterly forgettable movie that had basically had little impact on pop culture besides jokes about blue furries and "DANCES WITH WOLVES IN SPACE" which are barely made anymore.

The first was Deadpool. Zootopia's not in the Top 50 yet, but it will be soon.
Man, I remember the time when Top 50th worldwide box office was Toy Story 2, and all it took to enter top 50 was aroudn $500 million, while $1 billion was enough to get you into top 3. XD

Mostly it just looked really pretty, but didn't really have anything else going for it in the grand scheme of things. Certainly nothing to give it long-term viability beyond the fact that it happened.
And that it became the highest grossing movie of all time. I also don't think that anyone cares about Avatar anymore...but if the next movie is actually good, people might come back to it.
No crap. That's why I say it would be nice.
