I am pretty damn curious to see the reports on interception rates on those missiles.

Inter arma enim silent legesSM-3 is claimed to have a ballistic missile interception rate of 80% per missile you fire.
Currently it is at 100% for real combat, but thats a factor of small sample size.
There is a good chance it is the SM-3s. The US posted two separate ships for that task and fired several missiles. for intercepts.
The US has already shot down exo-atmospheric targets before so its not a huge surprise.

Who watches the watchmen? What The Navy’s Ship-Launched Missiles Actually Cost
With the supply of missiles being in the news as of late, we breakdown the price of those that pack the magazines of U.S. Navy warships.
The Warzone made a breakdown of the missile costs on USN ships
- RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile:$950,000.
- RIM-162 Block II:$1,490,000
- SM-2 Block IIIAZ:$770,000
- SM-6 (AKA The Anti-Everything missile):$4,270,000
- SM-3 Block IB and IIA:$12,510,000 Block IB and $28,700,000 Block IIA.
- BGM-109 Tomahawk block V:$1,890,000
- Naval Strike Missile:$1,900,000
- RGM-84 Harpoon Block II:$1,410,000
Emphasis quote on how much it costs to arm an Arleigh Burke destroyer:
The video showing the missiles, their use and the costs.
I wonder what the shelf life is for those missiles if you buy them and then don't use them. Presumably there is a point where it becomes more economical to just find something worthwhile to fire them at then to let them go bad and then need to be disposed of.
Maybe you can get an SM-6 to last longer if you keep it in a freezer like they do with MR Es.
With the big naval missiles like that you can generaly repair them.
Its things like batteries going bad, coolant leaks, and warhead instability that kill smaller missiles.
When your missile is more of a small aircraft all those parts can be replaced.
Speaking of Navy missiles.
Successful Patriot Interceptor Test From Naval Vertical Launcher Is A Big Deal
The test launch of a PAC-3 MSE interceptor from a Mk 41 vertical launcher is a step toward seeing Patriot missiles aboard U.S. Navy ships.
So the USN can launch PAC-3 Patriot missiles from Aegis equipped ships from their VLS. Which can increase the options to arm USN ships against airborne threats.
Inter arma enim silent legesDamn the money spent on Naval VLS has really paid off for us.
Who watches the watchmen? The best thing is that the system can easily be adapted for land systems as well.
So the VLS can be used as a missile platform for land strike and air defense.
The only thing missing now is to adapt them to be used in B-52s and C-130s now
Inter arma enim silent legesNo, we are not going to build AC-220’s from Halo Wars.
Imagine thinking that this lone Hercules caught out by its lonesome is easy pickings only for it to kick out a palletized salvo of Patriot missiles
US Navy fired SM3 Missiles that reportedly intercepted Iranian fired ballistic missiles.
Basically two US ships fired several missiles to intercept ballistic missiles fired at Israel. These are supposedly the first time these missiles have been used in combat.
