"But Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without the silver star!"

Nostalgia trip time. Who else remembers this old radio drama? Like an audio advent calendar, one episode would air each day, counting down to Christmas eve. The story was about how Judy and Jimmy, looking for their tree's star ornament for the top of their tree, get sucked into a minature fantasy world of toys, mundane objects, magical creatures, and of course tons of musical numbers.

While very much a product of its time (offhand I can think of Judy, who does little more than say how scared she is or how nice someone else is; the Cinnamon Bear as every Irish stereotype; blotting-paper-characters who act like "jungle natives" complete with boiling pots to cook people in; a literal cigar-store Indian who is written like he's straight out of Disney's Peter Pan; and so on) it's also got very charming and silly moments, and at times is genuinely funny. Even while remembering its cringe-worthy tropes filled with Values Dissonance, it was a really fun radio drama for little kids.

I've been thinking about starting a TV Tropes entry for this work (some characters, like the eponymous Cinnamon Bear, are already listed on appropriate tropes pages like Beary Friendly) but frankly it's been at least twenty years since I've listened to the drama.

It's been released on CD (that's how my brothers got to hear it) and might exist on some digital format, so I'll end up listening to it again - for nostalgia purposes alone, at least - but I was curious if anyone else remembered this fragment of radio history?

As an avid collector of OTR shows, I listen to The Cinnamon Bear every Christmas season, and have been trying to get my nieces to listen with me. I think it would be a great idea to have an article on the show, and I'd be glad to help write it in my spare time. :)

I discovered The Cinnamon Bear via the recent Audible podcast series remake. My wife remembers hearing the original when she was a kid, but it wasn't something they did every year.

Anyway, I think it would be great to add a page for it.

Sorry this is so late, but I completely agree. Maybe it's just the nostalgia talking, but I want a trope page for this series.

Add my vote to that. I grew up on this series and I'd happily contribute whatever I could to the page.
