It just flooded a uranium mine.

Isn't uranium relatively safe when it's in a mine? It need processing still. About as risky as flooding a coal mine no?
Secret SignatureIt is relatively safe even when processed. (Also uranium is everywhere in nature, uranum mines just have a bit more of the stuff than average).

A weird and sad tale. A mom whose son died got bereavement payments from the Russian military. Apparently, she's sending her kids to death in Ukraine just to buy a new place and repair the family house in the countryside.
You don't want that in your water any more than you want to be drinking coal.
As a result, the latest flooding has likely sent radioactive substances into the river, environmentalists said, potentially affecting hundreds of thousands of people living near the banks of the Tobol downstream.
Local ecologists said that the mines have been accumulating "radioactive sludge" for years, while authorities have ignored numerous public protests against continued uranium mining in this area, which is prone to spring flooding from the Tobol River.
And of course the authorities tried to ignore the problem.
It was a dark joke a few months into the war that families have decided their sons are worth more dead than alive.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI'm going to need a second source on that, because it is almost too ridiculously evil.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. You'd think half the Russian authorities would be in jail because of bribes or similar stuff. Did he piss off someone else?
Wake me up at your own risk.
Did he piss off someone else?
Yes. Have you already forgotten Prighozin?
