In a World…...where both Hollywood and the Japanese anime industry had massively declined. On one front, the three major guilds are striking after being pushed too far by the film and TV studios, putting an end to all ongoing productions. On the other, the reputation of modern anime had became such that people were unironically parroting the memetic Miyazaki misquote.
With its two biggest rivals in the entertainment geopolitical sphere fallen, China rises up to be the entertainment capital of the world. This is the story of a world where China has a monopoly on the biggest modern entertainment and the political ramifications of that. A story that questions of these fallen titans can somehow get back on their feet and challenge the new hegemony, and if other nations' film/tv industries can rise up to prominence.

A recurring story idea I've been having is a Dystopia-type story about culture war hysteria.
I've never been able to do anything with it, though. Maybe I just need to stop reading political news for a while.

Story about a community attempt a Hidden Elf Village of Arcadian techno primitives in a future where A.I.s and megacorps had cut out the human element from jobs and made them third class citizens. Causing them to retreat from a society that no longer wants them.
While trying to make their village viable, these folk must struggle with avoiding being discovered by the people that drove them out and curbing attempts by them to exploit their land.

A slice of life story is about an independent comic book creator. This creator used to work for a DC/Marvel ersatz company but after being let go by the company, he decides to work on his own comic. He also starts a website where he meets with fans, fellow creators and critics. The story could deal with creation, fandom, criticism and life.

I'm not a good writer or anything, I have little to no experience with it at all, but I've been looking at the state of some current events and well, I do have this idea for an ongoing story I would really like to make.
The plot of it is there is this guy who is like an ultra-hipster, right? He hates a lot of the new shit going on in the world of today. He gets fed up to a certain point and somehow (still working on that one) he gets transported to a year in the past of his choosing. He loves pretty much everything about it, he makes new friends in the time period, but he can never go back to the present where his old friends and loved ones are. They also don't exist in this timeline he's in.

A professional chef, a heath nut, a food critic and several types of foodies all end up in a future where, to combat the obesity epidemic, the citizens had their sense of taste eliminated.
Exploration of the role taste plays in society, the importance of nutrition and how the sugar, fast food and meat industries had forced their hand ensues, as well as ideological splits as some of these time travelers see it as a Bad Future to escape and prevent while others see it as utopia.

I had this fun and sweet idea recently.
Max and Anna are going to have their wedding shortly after the seventh short story (he’s going to propose to her while they’re on their vacation in Germany). I already started brainstorming about what her wedding dress is going to look like. :)

I mostly trope video games.
Some ideas I thought of that I don't really want to make in to a story. I might merge them with some story concepts I do have, but it's not likely:
- Person is a psychic and either has clairvoyance, mind-reading, or the power to see the future, but does not believe that such powers exist and is generally an uncooperative jerkass. Other people are trying to convince them to use their powers to stop some upcoming disaster.
- A supernatural mystery set entirely over one week, and localized in a school, college, or workplace. Conflict is set up on Monday, big showdown happens on Friday, and Friday's also the day of a big solar eclipse or something.
- A story with a Bug Fables-esque, or maybe Hollow Knight or Pikmin-esque, setting with bug-sized protagonists and their society out in the forest, which has not explored the whole world yet and isn't super developed in terms of technology. Plot's kicked off by some of them discovering an impossibly long "black path" (a road). It's initially set up to be an After the End setting for maybe a few chapters, but then a car drives by. The protagonists are a group of people sent on a mission to follow the Black Path as long as they can, to see if they can find the end of it and what lies along it.
- Most of the setting is either a desert or otherwise virtually uninhabitable (harsh snow tundras, toxic oceans with little to no signs of life) almost planet-wide, but there are several "safe haven" oasis patches. And then maybe go somewhere with that setting. The world might not be fully-explored and there's rumors of an extra-large oasis/full-blown peaceful forest across some especially vast stretch of hostile desert, or something along those lines. Also could have lore and stuff about how that particular world ended up that way. Either an apocalypse or the desert setting is just how the planet "naturally" was, and some kind of magic generated pools of clean water and life flourished around there en-masse or something.

An RPG Maker game about a man going on a quest to save his village after an army of bandits freeze their crops in time (meaning they cannot be harvested) with a spell to hold them ransom.

A police officer is investigating the murder, the two prime suspects are this retired special forces solider and this random government official. Both seem to have friends in high places but the evidence points to them and the judge wants them held in custody.
Turns out they are both Retired Monsters - the special forces soldiers is The Atoner, trying to do good after a career in very dark places, the government official is every Conspiracy Theorist's worst nightmare. He openly threatens the police officer and the judge.
Turns out neither of them killed the victim - the victim was killed by the government official's grandson, who is also the son of the retired soldier. The suspects may despise each other, but when the official's daughter went off and was Dating What Daddy Hates - it turned into marriage.
The victim killed the mother in a But for Me, It Was Tuesday moment and the son got brutal revenge - now the two suspects are going to take the heat for the son.

This idea has been on my mind for a while now.
I read that one of the ideas the writing team had for the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic movie was that the Big Bad was going to be Princess Celestia and Luna’s evil brother. I’ve been thinking about something similar. I was thinking of having either the Big Bad (or a very high ranking villain) of one of my future stories be Princess Lily’s brother. Then again, I must confess that I haven’t fully pieced together what her family life was like when she was mortal. ^_^;;

A story about a content creator who has done something bad in the past. He apologized, made amends and took responsibility for his wrongdoing. The problem is that not everyone has forgiven and still thinks he is an awful person. While some of his fans and colleagues have forgiven him, not everyone is convinced he has changed. This story could deal with forgiveness, redemption, public relations, the creative process and atonement.

A satire of both the Kardashev Scale and Power Levels, via a shonen esque battle story where charterer's strength is based on on where on the former scale their civilization of origin is.
I’ve thought of yet another one of the new pets my characters are going to have starting in Volume 8. I just had that much fun with it. ^_^;; I suddenly feel very tempted to give Queen Sastiana a pet lizard. :) I was thinking of an iguana or a tegu, something that’s big enough that she can easily and gently carry him or her around in her opera glove-clad arms. 
A story about a group of kids and teens who have all lived in the same neighborhood their whole lives. They know each other, their parents know each other, they go to the same school(s), etc. And eventually, somehow, the truth comes out. Their parents are all retired supervillains who were essentially offered amnesty for everything they did in exchange for settling down. All their houses are bugged, certain staff at the the schools and daycares their children (the protagonists) go to are specifically assigned to keep an eye on said children, and maybe another family living on the same street is a pair of superheroes monitoring them, who had children themselves at some point. Different characters have different reactions to all of this: some try to be heroes, some try to follow in their parents footsteps, some try to keep their normal lives going, and some at least try to run away from home. Of course there’s also the issue of what caused the secret to get out. I don’t really have a very clear idea as to the actual plot, to be honest.

How about a science fiction book that deconstructs time travel tropes? I think I might have mentioned this before but what would happen if an ordinary person discovered time travel and travels through various eras in history? This person would way out of his depth as while the person is intelligent, that does not mean that he/she knows history all that well.
