Discussion pages not watchlisting correctly

I've found that quite a few pages I have on my watchlist do not also have the corresponding discussion pages watched. There's an easy fix (just de-watch the page, navigate to another page, navigate back, and re-watch it), but it doesn't help much because there's no warning until someone references the discussion page in an edit reason. I almost got into an edit war because I didn't realize an example had been decided on elsewhere.

I know some other tropers have had this problem, so I think it's time to officially put it on the bug list.

We have a bug list? And this isn't on it? It's been an issue for as long as we've these discussion pages

Well, when I said bug list, I meant...this. I didn't know this issue was so old, but I wasn't able to find a topic on it.

You don't even need to leave the page when you reset the watch, just remove then add the watch.

That said, it's been an issue for quite a while, but as I understand it a rather lower priority one for the sole coder for this site.

I've missed more than a few discussions until long after it had gone quiet because of that... just bugs me

Previous topic on the same thing. And I think it had been mentioned in Ask The Tropers before that, which is how I knew to check. So the issue is at least over a year old.

Bumping to verify whether or not this is still an issue.

Seems like no, so closing.
