just posting an old classic that was among the recommended videos:
What Is Your Fav Gigguk Video You Consider A Classic?
I vote for the animated video of anime studios as people. Also I listen to the convention guide now and then.
easily the Eromanga Sensei video, it made me put it on my "plan to watch" list
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic Socialistso Gigguk just posted a video about, probably, the best anime of the season
Gigguk recently posted his retrospective of 2018 and i agree, 2018 was a pretty good year for anime
let's hope 2019 will be just as great
EDIT: i really wish this thread was more active

Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic Socialist2018 was such a good year for anime that Gigguk made a part 2 of the year in summary:
also, interesting discussion on what makes a classic at the end of the video. do you think there are less classics produced in modern times? were the classics a product of their time due to less available anime at the time? is there less classics due to the seasonal hype wave getting everyone to try to find the next big thing?
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic SocialistI think it's largely due to the change in consumptions habits, yes. I'm pretty sure that anime like Code Geass or Madoka would't have become nearly as big if they had come out in 2018; and series like Made in Abyss or Devilman Crybaby would have made much more of an impact ten years ago.
Hell, I think it also explains why Attack on Titan's Season 3 got much less hype than the previous two despite being generally considered the best one so far (though splitting the season in two didn't help much).
i talked with someone on reddit about that and there are only 3 anime that could be argued managed to hit all of the community at once, Attack On Titan, Kill la Kill and Re:Zero.
the first two because they lacked any competition in their seasons and the latter because of how great it was at getting people to discuss it
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic SocialistI think classics have become more personal due to how the industry developed. There are two anime over the last two years that I personally think are classics, but I wouldn't expect them to be that for someone else. Hitting such a massive group of people as would be necessary to build a classic like Madoka or Cowboy Bebop isn't a realistic goal anymore, I think. Maybe within a show's own niche, but not for the widespread public.
Winter 2019 summary!
…Boy that's a lot of saliva. I'm almost disappointed he didn't pick on Kotobuki Squadron's CG/not CG dilemma.
And indeed, this season does have a ton of great openings.
I think you mean bangers.
I'm disappointed he didn't mention Quintessential Quintuplets.
he seems to have missed a lot of shows this season, but that's probably because he made the "Best Anime of 2018" after 2019 had already started, in addition to that, the video was very long, so it must have taken quite some time to work on
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic SocialistWell, his Nutshell videos are always pretty short, they aren't meant to be comprehensive. I wish they were a bit longer, although all that editing must be time-consuming.
…By the way, what the hell is Virtual-san Looking? >.>

something which features virtual youtubers, the theme song is even by Kizuna Ai, accoring to MAL
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic SocialistYou know, I am now certain that Gigguk really does enjoy Eromanga sensei.
I tried getting into it, but couldn't even get through the first ten minutes.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.i have it on my PTW thanks to Gigguk's video
i have to have watched at least one trashy anime in my life
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic SocialistIf anything interested me it's the one that's a modern take of that Osama Tezuka manga. Can't think of the name atop of my head. And maybe Kakegurui XX (I legitimately don't know why I watched the first season)
If you can't handle being outed by a signature, that's on you.1. they rendered the animation style so it isn't a rip-off/imitation of Tezuka's manga drawings but still immediately recognizable.
2. No one cares.
i would also recommend you to check out Kaguya-sama: Love is War, one of r/manga's most beloved series, with a recent chapter becoming the most gilded and upvoted chapter in the subs history. and it looks like the same is gonna happen on r/anime, doesn't exactly hurt that it has been adapted amazingly well
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic SocialistYeah, the first ep was wonderful. It's kinda like if Jojo's Bizarre Adventure was a school romantic comedy. XD
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.i'd say it's closer to Death Note than Jo Jo
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic Socialistso Gigguk just posted a video about Shield Hero, why it's popular and discussing it's place in the current isekai landscape
…That girl is 10? >.>
Not having watched Shield Hero I can't really comment on the whole controversy, but that "difficulty select" joke made me laugh.
Not sure how Fate counts as an isekai, though… Fate/Extra, maybe, but the others…

Though I have heard the show itself does not adapt its source material very well.
Season 3 I hear is going through a lot of shit at once.
