Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules (in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

Nor I.
New theme music also a boxI was only going to make the first one, the second half came out randomly so it doesnt make any sense.
I meant how Badass Gay and some other positive tropes about the LGBT crowd get deleted eventually and only very negative or ill advised portrayal tropes remain.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Badass Gay was cut because all "badass X" are all getting cut. It's not the pattern you think of.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupBadass Preacher is still up. And I already know that. I lamented it but now remembered that as positive portrayals are becoming more common they are going the way of Action Girl (As in possible portrayals are no longer notable) which IS a VERY positive thing.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.In part as a response to that being cut, Watched It for the Representation was made.
However I would say that good representation is invisible until you look at it. I have a lot to criticise in the Usborne Puzzle Adventure books, but one thing that didn't register until I returned to them as an adult is that the protagonists are as likely to be boys as girls. They didn't assume that only boys would want adventures about outthinking villains to save the world. (On the other hand, only a few side characters had anything but the palest skin tone.)
All this is to say that gushing about a badass minority character feels to me rather misguided. We should be gushing about how seamlessly they fit in to the point that you barely notice it.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.I know, I just lamented it a bit, my post was not "GRRRR How dare we remove this!" I was there when the decision was made, and to be honest I understand it, I was not condemning the mods or anyone.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. There's a thread for discussing potential queer tropes, if you're interested. (I brainstormed Multi-Gendered Outfit there before drafting it in TLP.)
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI dont really care that much guys, it was a bit sad, I get why they got the cut. But thanks Noaqiyeum. You've always been a great person.
EDIT: Wow! That thread is awesome.

Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I notice a lot of descriptions for Mascot Horror games are written in first person addressing the player, only hinting that the situation isn't innocent at the end with a What Could Possibly Go Wrong? bit, presumably following in the footsteps of the Five Nights At Freddys pages and the tone of the phone operator.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. It has occured to me that quite a lot of people use Random Media button to search for problems, while Pages Needing Example Sorting, Alphabetically Ordering Examples Clean Up, and other designated pages aren't getting shorter.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupAmbiguity tropes for sexuality and gender are the only "tropes" at No Recent Examples, Please!. While it should be fairly obvious, I find it a neat observation that NREP is only applicable to out-of-universe concepts.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupWhy is it that every time I check the launch pad, there is a new Transformation related trope being launched?
Is there a transformation trope being split into multiple tropes?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I keep misreading Chrome Champion as Chrome Companion.
What would a Chrome Companion be like?
Oo oo ah ahA third-party app of some sort?
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.I was thinking a Chrome Companion would be a Robot Buddy.
I don't mind my sandbox getting mined to make new work pages.
But at least finish the job lmao
My classes start tomorrow I can't fix these yet.
I just discovered Briefer Than They Think, which covers a similar concept to my Old Shame Wildfire Franchise.
It's kinda funny how we say Tropes Are Flexible, yet there are a lot of tropes that have super strict definitions in the fine print that not even laconics make obvious. I get not wanting to have too many tropes that are The Same, but More Specific, but it can be frustrating when it comes some tropes being merely the closest approximation to what tropers may be looking for. I often don't know just how strict some trope definitions are until they get TRS'd and/or made NRLEP.
some tropes are flexable, some are rigid
New theme music also a boxI'd imagine Forgotten Tropes tend to not be flexible (or at least not as flexible) because their limited lifespans didn't provide much of an opportunity for examples to provide as much variety as tropes that had longer lifespans.
I thought to myself that Briefer Than They Think should be marked as YMMV when I saw that it somehow wasn't... and then I saw Tropes Needing TRS in the list of indexes it's on and saw that someone else already added it to that page for that very reason.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Sometimes I wonder how things would have gone if some deleted tropes are still around with the same type of TVT culture as a the previous decade. For example, could you imagine how long the Painful Rhyme page for Wish (2023) would be?
Edit: So apparently, Painful Rhyme is still a trope, but it's now In-Universe Examples Only. The more you know...

How do the Trope Report writers choose which articles to spotlight?
I can't say I understand either of these two claims.
