Ruby really did it.

She united the world.

A simple soul's hope really did make all the difference.

I'm assuming its refering to how the epilogue apparently showed that Salem after leaving Atlas just wiped out Vale with nothing left after Port and the others pulled a rearguard action to evacuate as many people as possible to Vacuo. With Vacuo under attack for days when the evacuees arrived.

And even then that doesn't actually prove Ironwood right since his whole thing was that he convinced himself no one would come and that every man was for himself, but we've seen that the entire world is now united and ready to fight thanks to Ruby's message of hope.

Well, after a huge splash of Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy.

You say that as if it is anything new. “Darkest before the dawn” is a saying for a reason.

To be fair to the Vacuans, those wacky fantasy world Austrailians, mistreating the racist and elite evacuees from Atlas who literally are only here because an evil witch attacked and made their own military commander go insane and cause the destruction of their own city - they did just become a sanctuary city probably to a crap ton of racist wealthy people who'd just previously cut off trade of what is essentially the energy and power of this setting. Which probably didn't help Vacuo out at all.

And the reason they showed up literally on Vacuo's doorstep is because of a magical building planner who whisked them through a magic portal. The only explanation for this being a teenage girl you've never seen before explaining it all on TV, and before you even have time to process this all this fear, uncertainy, and negativity is bringing days worth of Grimm down on top of you.

Given these circumstances and this explanation, sure there's healthy irony in this, but how would you react ^note without the immediate advantage of knowing all the struggles and hardship that caused this, no seriously, pretend you live in Vacuo and don't know the whole situation but were forced into it by, apparently, a teenager.

I'm going to miss RWBY creating these fascinating fantasy versions of political issues only to contextualize them in the most laughably effed up ways imaginable.

I don't know if this tone-deaf or stunningly complex social commentary, like asking someone with stern political views to consider the bizarro scenario of switching roles with their opponent.

Disclaimer: Not criticizing the writing the imagery and tone is beautiful, and Qrow's segment points to the good that this situation caused, and yes the situation clearly works out thematically. I just find the setup to it hilarious

It wasn't expecting them to be fine with it, but when you're facing the literal annihilation of two populations you have focus in the immediate problem first before worrying about what happens later when you get to it.

It's not like it's a hopeless situation, things were starting to turn the corner at the end too.

Thought Menagerie was supposed to be the Australia equivalent?

What are you talking about? The setting’s nations were not at WAR with each other.

It is just they have to put aside differences because the situation has gotten that bad.

1) There were only five countries in the world which were continously threatened by grimms for millenia. If that didn't make them "put away their differences" before then nothing could do it.

2) Funny that Salem never did this before considering she was looking happy while Ruby was broadcasting her message. If she thought that mankind would never be able to work together, then I repeat: why hadn't she done this before?. By the way, what is stopping her from ordering Ambrosius to create a masive cloud of sleeping gas and win?.

Makes sense. Kill off enough people and uniting the world becomes so much easier.

That's... literally the entire point. Humanity had ignored the common enemy for so long that the only way to unite people was to make them aware of the true threat of Salem. I don't know why you're coming in here out of complete nowhere just to drop "bullshit, bullshit, bullshit" but it's not really needed.

So, basically you are saying that Ozpin and his underlings were complete morons for not doing it before. And again, the Grimm control the 90% of the planet. If that didn't made mankind to unite then nothing should be able to do it.

There's a difference between humanity being plagued by random monster attacks versus an immortal witch is actively trying to destroy the world. Ruby revealed Salem to the world so they united, it's not bullshit

It kinda is, but not in the narrative breaking way being brought up.
