Anyone Remember The Ani-Men?

So reading through some DD comics, I found the Ani-Men's first appearance/origin story. For those of you who don't remember, these guys were Bird-Man, Cat-Man, Ape-Man, and Frog-Man. I know they became kind of mercenaries after that story before dying from Iron Man but does anyone know where else they appeared in? Or any info/trivia about them in general?

They also worked for Count Nefaria against the All-New X-Men, the issues where Thunderbird died I think.

[up]Yeah. In that story they were joined by Dragonfly, who Wolverine later realised had escaped from Muir Island at the same time as Magneto. Probably the first plot thread Claremont left hanging forever.

I dont think the original Ani Men have come back from the dead, but there's been at least two groups created since. The High Evoloutionary created one set and another group fought the GLA.

Also, I think Wikipedia might be wrong. On their page they say that Frog-Man was recruited for his leaping ability but in the book I read, Frog-Man was a diving specialist. Any insight?

I think there's been two Frog-Men. One of them, IIRC, was the Ani-Man, and another one was a Spider-Man character.

You're right. The Fabulous Frog-Man was a Spider-Man character who was the son of Leap-Frog. But on Wikipedia, it specifically says that the Frog-Man in the Ani-Men was recruited for his leaping ability even though I'm pretty sure he was a diver.

There is now a page for the Ani-Men. Check out The Ani-Men.

It's gonna be fun on the bun!

The beauty of Tvtropes is that technically it doesn't matter how obscure something is, as long as you care, you can give a long and detailed page to a cheese commercial if you really want.

It's Ani-Men today, it could be Paste Pot Pete and Unus the Untouchable tomorrow.

Still waiting on the day TV Tropes talk about Justice League villains like The Key or Starbreaker
