The Far Side

Now, I like The Far Side. It had some very interesting episodes.

You might not know this, but some episodes had never been published, due to some of them being too offensive.

For instance, there's an episode that never reached newspapers, because it featured a roasted horse, and the caption has a guy awkwardly trying to explain that his pal said he was so hungry that he could eat a horse, and...one thing led to another.

The official site is teasing "a new online era". Hey, we got Bloom County back.

Don't hold your breath for Calvin and Hobbes though.

My bet would be Larson's just going to officially start posting the old strips online, something he's vigorously fought against in the past. But hey, if we get all new stuff, cool!

It's now live. There's a letter from Gary Larson along with some old comics. Hens promising some new comics in 2020.

We now have three brand-new strips. As I suppose I should expect, the third is a mystery to me.

If it's the one with the bears, the consensus seems to be that if it's not just Random Weirdness, it's a riff on the fact that adult bears sometimes kill and eat cubs.
