STEM people can be remarkably naive in some ways.

I just read about that Adam Kovic situation and dig some more digging about his wife, Jess.

And all I can say is yeeeeeeeeeesh I cannot see a marriage recovering from that.

What was that situation about exactly? And who's Kovic now again?

Adam Korvic was a dude working with the company for a while. He attended their major events and hooked up with a couple of underage fans. Then proceeded to text nudes and inappropriate messages to them. He sent a video of himself having sex with his wife in the RT office while she was unaware they were being filmed. Eventually he got Me Too!'d and all of this came out at once.

I genuinely do not know how some people get married and do stupid crap like this.

I recently discovered Camp Camp, after I heard all the bad stuff about Rooster Teeth, making the whol thing bittersweet.

So... Rooster Teeth's in awful shape now right?

• RTX is cancelled at this year
• Reactionary channels throwing up "Rooster Teeth is doomed" videos
• No word on their biggest franchises

If I had a dollar for every no name so called News Channel that said something is doomed/finished only for said thing to continue on I could pay off the rest of my car loan. They're about as noteworthy as You Tube Apology videos by now. That being said how hard is it to just not be stupid?

True.

Its just I used to go "RWBY will get Volume 10, too big to fail" and now I'm not so sure. Like, I still think it will get picked up by someone but it doesn't seem like it has a future in Rooster Teeth's hands.

RT is honestly in legitimate danger. It's not known if RWBY Volume 10 has even started production and Time Warner has been tightening the belt recently.

Rooster Teeth did announced the return of Camp Camp on March 1, 2024 earlier this month. They also brought back On the Spot not too long ago as well. So, they are still bringing more of their big shows back. The Let's Play channel has started showing new videos as well.

I have only the vaguest memories of first getting into RT, but I have very precious ones of finding the entire Blood Gulch collectors set during a vacation trip in high school. Guess that's getting a lot more precious now.

Not a surprise, since their reputation has been in the toilet for the last few years and Discovery hates actually making content, but I'm still sad to hear it. I remember talking about Rv B with my friends back when I was in boy scouts. And I didn't even play Halo.

Any idea what'll happen with RWBY? That was their other big thing.

According to the RWBY thread, there's apparently talk of selling off RT's IPs, with Crunchyroll speculated as to be the likely buyer of RWBY.

If that's happening, I suspect Microsoft gets automatic right of first refusal to buy Red vs. Blue, since it's pretty clearly tied to the Halo IP. Anything else, though, seems to be completely up in the air as to whether anyone will buy them at all, or if they'll just sink into IP-ownership limbo.

IIRC, Zaslav was one of the key figures involved with turning The Learning Channel from a station that actually could teach you valuable things into TLC, the home of the absolute worst of Reality Show garbage. How could he not be pure evil, knowing that?

Yes, but on this one I can't say I fully blame him.

RT has been in decline for longer than most studios have been around. Yes, having a notorious penny-pincher/idiot/guy who doesn't understand making things can be good doesn't do them any favors but it's been a running joke for years that people are surprised to hear RT is still around.

It’s a shame Rooster Teeth has become another victim of Zazlav. I know of their prior scandals, but I grew up with Red vs. Blue. I hope everyone working there is able to find a path forward.

I guess with everything that's happened the past few years, with both WB and RT, this wasn't a total surprise, which makes it sting a little less... not that it doesn't still sting though. At least RvB is already on its way out, but I hope in some way RWBY is able to properly finish.

Sad to see but writing was on the walls for a long time now.

I'd honestly be surprised if Crunchyroll bothered unless they get a supremely good deal — the show doesn't seem to be profitable. One of RWBY's writers had to go to Twitter to basically beg for Crunchyroll to fund Volume 10 and that clearly didn't happen.

The show in its current form is probably toast. Best you can hope for is a complete reboot.

I've heard that RWBY's main problem was that it essentially got too expensive to make. Which sucks, even if I never watched it — shows deserve a proper ending.

Anyway, I mostly just listen to the podcasts nowadays, and the announcement says they'll continue for the time being but I'm not holding my breath on that. F**KFACE is the only one I can see actually staying around outside of RT since it's pretty popular on its own merit. I think Red Web and ANMA (the other two I listen to) are most likely doomed though. Unsure about the RTP (I listen to it sometimes, but I don't keep up with it closely).
