anyway, i cut down on the all caps and yelling, it still has a warning, it's just more in line with wiki tone. And since there are still Let's Play versions, it doesn't need to be moved, so i guess it's fine as is

It's not. Though as you mentioned, some redditors reverse-engineered the code for the malware packaged within the game files. The analysis for that is here.
I never downloaded the game or the clean version (for obvious reasons), but Wikipedia's article on Sad Satan talks about what it actually is. I bolded the quote, but put it behind a folder so that anyone who may be disturbed can ignore it.
There is also a Reddit analysis (also possibly NSFW) Reddit thread describing the images. I'm not going to quote it, because it's highly disturbing, but to put a long story short, it is not an urban legend. It is, sadly, real.

There's beauty in even the smallest moments.I think that's a tiny bit melodramatic, no?
We already trope the page. We don't need to say exactly what kind of CSAM is in the clone or what the virus does, that's totally irrelevant to the tropes themselves (okay, with the exception of warning the viewer not to download it). My post was mainly meant to debunk the argument above that it was just an urban legend. I really wanted it not to be true, but it's true nonetheless.
I still don't think it mandates cutting the entire page.

There's beauty in even the smallest moments.?? why would it be removed? it's a real game, if not a very good one (or at least it's a game that existed at some point in time), and while some versions existed that were using the game to trick people into downloading viruses and CP, that's not really the same as the game itself being pedofuel
Likely for obvious reasons, the Reddit analysis that Floater linked does not describe the CSAM image other than mention it.

Am I that troper? Maybe, maybe not, the world may never know. Also our page is more about the Urban Legend in the same way the polybius page is
Absolute destiny... apeachalypse?Gushing Over Magical Girls isn't dewicked yet, so I added a notice in Wick Cleaning Projects, under the Removal folder:
Manga.Gushing Over Magical Girls: 66 wicks as of 04/23/2024.
- This work was cut as decided by the Content Violation Discussion. Dewick the titles in trope examples and remove the ones that are too explicit.

Closing this thread in favour of holding all meta discussions here.

There’s definitely let’s plays of Sad Satan out there, and by rather notable figures no less—here’s PewDiePie, for one. Some of the claims on the page might be a bit iffier, but I certainly see no reason to cut it or relegate it to Darth.
And quite honestly, I suspect the whole “real CP” thing is just an urban legend. The malware-infested version sounds far more probable, however, so we’re better off not encouraging people to try to find the game for themselves.
