As long as you don't resort to Zeltrech being a troll, as I'm now aware he canonically isn't, I'm game.

Just to be clear, his involvement won't be Played for Laughs. And I chalk up his eccentricness as partially genuine and partially Obfuscating Insanity.

The two scenes I've read with the Wizard Marshal in he didn't really strike me as insane. Kind of a prick, but sane.

Supposedly there was an interview where Nasu said Zelretch had a personality like Jotaro Kujo.

There's a very funny story about male and female Guda being Shirou and Rin's kids. It's called Fate/Sunny Order. It can be found on ff.net but the more recent stuff is on the Sufficient Velocity forum.

The timeline is fixed up, with Grand Order happening later. It also takes the fact that the protags are Rin's kids to it's natural conclusion.

Been reading it, it also features a serious half to the story. I recommend it to anyone wanting a good laugh.

Admittedly, if I ever wrote something it would be less Played for Laughs, though then again doing so might make the story less likeable if there isn't enough levity to compensate for the seriousness.

Oh, yeah, Sunny Order is pretty funny, and surprisingly well-written despite it being crack as all hell.

So I've been back on track writing that crossover with Undertale, but haven't properly posted it anywhere yet because I don't trust myself to unless I at least finish the Undertale arc of the story. The Fate part, on the other hand, is significantly less solidified in my mind in terms of what direction I want it to go. Though it helps that it's a lot shorter a story than Digimon Tamers or My Hero Academia, so there's that. My main challenge has been diversifying the story and dialogue beyond a rote retelling, really.

But I've also been pondering doing a Deltarune crossover as well, not as a complete story but more of a "what-if" series of vignettes. And how to set it up, well, I was originally gonna do it in mainline Fate but with a major divergence but then I realized that "alternate universe where everything is basically a lot less shitty and everyone lives normal lives" is basically Prisma Illya in a nutshell, and I decided to just keep it simple and have the Emiya/Einzbern family and the Dreemurrs living together, with Toriel acting as the resident parent with Kiritsugu and Irisviel being away, and they've lived together long enough that Shirou and Illya consider Asriel an older sibling. And also because it'd be funny if Shirou was going on adventures while Illya is doing magical girl stuff and neither of them are aware of it until _someone_ they both know connects the dots.

Some ideas (I've marked spoilers, but frankly Deltarune chapter 1 is free, pretty short and really good so...):

• While tracking down one of the Class Cards (maybe Caster, if she escapes her fight), Illya and co end up in the Dark World, and meet Ralsei. Illya finds him adorable and sorta has a crush on him. Then she finds out that he looks like her second "adoptive brother", Asriel, which causes Ruby to tease her to no end.
• Susie is perfectly aware of Shirou's Clueless Chick-Magnet thing and desperately tries to keep their relationship platonic, only for her to be the only gal Shirou shows any potential romantic interest in and they nearly have sex, only for Shirou to stop before they do it, pointing out that if they did it, he wouldn't know what Toriel would do if she ever found out, which Susie agrees would probably be terrifying. The girls actively trying to get Shirou's attention all simultaneously annoyed by Susie actually getting to actively hang out with him and also terrified of her for obvious reasons.
• Sakura and Noelle are totally BFFs who bond over their mutual shyness.
• Shirou invites Susie to the beach hangout in the 2wei arc. Of course, rather than just go with a swimsuit, Susie wears swimming trunks and her usual jacket. She and Shirou have a heart-to-heart, wishing Ralsei and Lancer could hang out with them as well.
• At the start of the 3rei arc, when Illya and co. go missing, Shirou and Susie think something is off despite Irisviel and Toriel's assurances that nothing's wrong, and go to the Dark World to try and perhaps find someone who can help figure out the mystery. They and Ralsei end up recruiting the aid of Seam, due to his former profession as a court magician, and is curious to see what's going on despite his general apathy, who uses his magic to find out about the alternate universe with the Einsworths, which is also a universe without monsters (well, the Undertale/Deltarune kind). After realizing that Pandroa's Box is remarkably similar to the fountains of the Dark World, Shirou, Susie and Ralsei decide to use their abilities as the three legendary Delta Warriors to step in during the first major battle involving Pandroa's Box, using Outside Context Magic combined with Ralsei and Shirou using the latter's SOUL to burn away the mud while Susie defends them (even teaming up with Jevil to hold off Lancelot!Sakura), completely blindsiding Julian and forcing the Einzworth faction into retreat to prevent Pandora's Box from being sealed outright.

Random thought I had the other day. Even if it's only in Carnival Phantasm or the like, but has Nero ever encountered Nrvnqsr? Or at least learned about him or anything? And if so what was her reaction?

So if any of you remember talking about this, there was a fanfic call Nerve Damage that centered about Shirou having a new powerset (Word Magic) and enough Magic Circuits to accidentally summon 4 Saber-Class servants (Artoria, Artoria Alter, Artoria Lily, and Nero) that faithful day Lancer attacked him. This causes the corrupted Holy Grail to overclock its mana output and allow for the summing of multiple servants per master, eventually totaling 4 per class. It was first posted in September of 2012 and enjoyed a healthy updating schedule until the author, CrossyCross, cancelled it later that December after posting 12 chapters but losing all his notes for the story's outline.

I bring this up because in May 2018 another author, LoneTaker, eventually took up the challenge of continuing the story when Crossy allowed other people to write from where he left off...and he eventually delete that continuation after a slew of negative reviews criticized his writing decisions. I was surprised to see this when I heard the news, but it did makes sense after thinking about it. Having read Nerve Damage: Season 2 from its start to its finish, I can immediately pick out why Taker's reviews turned sour.

Taker introduced Cain's brother Abel, a new character who killed Gilgamesh like it was nothing, then stated that he owned the Throne of Heroes and was therefore able to turn those heroes into Class Cards to empower his little group of orphans. One of those orphans was introduced without context, making her feat of defeating several servants ludicrously hard to believe and crippling Rin of her Magic Circuits. Even afterwards, all it really meant was there were a new group of characters we suddenly had to keep track of, which made the story much harder to follow or even enjoy.

Wow, that sounds like some Grade A shit.

It wasn't great, yeah. Even his understanding of the lore was questionable, since he tried to defend Monica's unexplained performance with Kuzuki's fights against Saber. He never picked up on Why Kuzuki could fight Saber at that point in the Stay Night canon, so the reviews picked his explanation apart.

I even remember him admitting in the final chapter that he bit off more than he could chew by writing more Nerve Damage to begin with.

How's that fight difficult to understand? Kuzuki was only temporarily a match for Saber because Caster was buffing him to high heavens and his Snake fighting style is so unusual that Saber's Instinct couldn't really react to it at first. Even with all that, he was incapable of killing her and his element of surprise wouldn't have lasted that long.

Speak of the devil, it looks like Nerve Damage: Season 2 is back under a new name, Nerve Damage: Season 2: Sensory Overload. The author admitted that the heavy criticism he was put under was valid, so he deleted the story and started his plans over from scratch. Even the first chapter of the new story reads better than the first from his last attempt.
