Dine just so happens to have an inner tube in her backpack. Too convenient...
mario is red, i am green, i try my best, but everyone's meanMan, this thread's been dead for a while now.
And I hope not. The comments are way overloaded with memes, which sucks because you literally cannot start a legit conversation about Amber/Amazi-Girl without it getting derailed.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies....that awkward moment where tvtropes is actually less likely to derail your conversation with memes.
Anyway, this hopefully will silence all of those annoying people who insist that Amber is not Amazi-Girl.
<><So, now that this place is active again, let's see if we can't at least get it up to Sinfest-thread levels of activity and see where it goes from there.
So, let's get discussion rolling. I think it's odd that Willis has promised that we'd get different pairings and story threads this time around and yet Danny and Billie just banged. Granted, this doesn't necessarily mean a relationship, but it's still sort of odd.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.I wouldn't think it odd. He's the first person to treat her like she wanted to be when she got to college.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987No, I think it works in-story quite nicely, I'm saying from a Doylist standpoint.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. The way she acted makes me think it's not the basis of a long term relationship at all.
Meh. Amber not being Amazi-Girl is the main source of amusement from this comic, for me.

Poor Amber. I still think Danny and her might end up together, but its definitely not going to be right now.
I'm not quite sure I get what there was to be upset about. I can only remember one instance of them having any even slightly romantic interaction, and Amber seemed a bit off-put by it.
I mean, I get what there is to be upset about, but it's one of those "I understand people are like this but it makes no sense to me personally" sort of things. If she was interested she should've said something so shit like this doesn't happen.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. She's a self-made social outcast. It's not as easy as you would think to admit feelings for somebody when you're like that.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Last panel made me laugh out loud. Though I'm wondering if he's telling the truth—previous strips definitely don't make it look that way, but the expression on his face..
I wasn't planning on posting today, I have work to do, but goddamn I love Willis. This is one of maybe three aversions of A Man Is Always Eager I've ever read, and finally turned Danny back into (for me, anyway) an identifiable character rather than the mocking post he's been for the better part of the last year.
Though I have to say Danny should know better than to start up the ensuing Joe conversation with "You'll never believe what just happened!" He should've known Joe wouldn't be very impressed.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Well, Joe had a hard time believing it...
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Unrelated to the current topic, but I found it somewhat amusing that the "modern" church that Joyce and Co. are at is singing "Lord I Lift Your Name On High". Around here that's considered a "old-school" song of the type we sing around campfires late at night.
<><I suspect they're singing a pop rock version or something.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.In which we find a crazier fundie than Joyce. At least Joyce is trying to be understanding (such as her extremely awkward conversation with the Mormon girl).
Hypocrisy? Isn't that when you preach one thing and do the opposite? And didn't Ethan just say that, given a do-over, he'd play it straight, so to speak? (Answer: yes, yes he did.)
Ethan's actions here are perfectly consistent with the things he's been saying. It's not hypocritical at all.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. But he's not exactly doing things over. That would require his friends to know he's not gay. Instead he's willing to play on the naivete of Joyce to try and get his "second chance".
And there's also the bit where Judaism =/= Christianity, but that's a whole different can of worms.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Nevertheless, I fail to see how this behavior in any way contradicts things he's said. Pretending to be something you're not isn't hypocritical if you haven't spoken out against that sort of thing.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Just in case it wasn't already clear: Ethan/Joyce is going to be...interesting.
I will second that, although it is a much more novel experience than it would be for anyone else.
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.
