There are very high chances that Aznar is a fascist (to be precise, a francoist) and that he at the very least sympathized with the coup. I suppose, however, that with the way he monopolizes Venezuela's airtime with his Allo Presidente and his reality shows and his bullshit, that you're quite happy that someone told him to shut the hell up and got away with it.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Look, its one thing to criticize a man's decisions and another to directly insult the man. Chavez did a lot of the latter and for that he deserved his thrashing.

Everything is Possible. But some things are more Probable than others. JEBAGEDDON 2016Huh? But US politicians insult each other all the time!
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Exactly. It's one of the main reasons Americans have such little respect for them
I can understand your feelings over the Chavez-Carlos spat. During the 2012 Presidential election Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that Republican candidate Mitt Romney's late father (George Romney) would be ashamed of Mitt today. Now I admire Reid as a politician, and I personally believe he was probably correct. However I also firmly believe that Reid had no right to publicly say something like that, and I enjoyed watching pundits (like John Stewart) lay on to him over that remark.

Everything is Possible. But some things are more Probable than others. JEBAGEDDON 2016In British politics, the minute you attack the person and not their argument: you've lost. And, this isn't just in the parliamentary setting, but out in the "real world".
About the only way you can get away with it is if you cover the attack with innuendo, wit... and, three types of evidence, at least one of which is in the public domain.
To be honest... I love it, and wish I could export the attitude wholesale to other countries. Places like South Africa and Venezuela could use a bushel.
So, a little bit of news. Chavez himself has appeared on television saying that more malign cells have been detected in the area as before. He will go this Sunday to Cuba to undergo more treatment and for the first time he has named a successor should anything happen to him, his vicepresident Nicolas Maduro.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything. That postpones the potential political bloodbath a little bit, then. Well, to some extent.
^ Depends on whether the VP can get any support from any of the "movers and shakers" in Venezuela other than Chavez. History is loaded with successors to autocrats quickly finding themselves looking down the proverbial gun barrel from the wrong side because they couldn't muster enough support for their reign.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpThat was pretty much what I was getting at, yes. It calms down initial power-plays... to gather them together should the above happen. Meaner and more fierce than they were before.
So what's the census on Vice-President Nicolás Maduro.
Everything is Possible. But some things are more Probable than others. JEBAGEDDON 2016Weird enough, i like Nicolas Maduro. A bit. Unlike other guys like Mario Silva, Elias Jaua, or Diosdado Cabello, Nicolas seems to be the most simpathetic for me.
He was a Bus driver before being the vice president. Think about it.

To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Well... it appears the guy has a sucesful operation. Well, thats a relief. I hate that guy, but, having him dead would only make our country worse. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-20686015
He still can die, though.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back. The cancer is probably still going to win, down the line... (well, unless his heart decides to steal cancer's glory).
This has only postponed things.
'Complex And Difficult Days' Without Chavez, Venezuelan Vice President Warns
Everything is Possible. But some things are more Probable than others. JEBAGEDDON 2016Well, i know this isn´t as interesting as the rest, but here i say it.
Chavez won over 20 states. But he lost 3. And his rival during the presidential elections, Henrique Capriles , won again, and will still be Miranda Gobernator..
At least El Flaco is still on Miranda Too bad my state is chavista...
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.I like Capriles. Eh is a pretty cool guy. Eh builds schools and doesn't afraid of Chavez.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Just adding wood to the fire.
but the PP, the party under which Aznar governed, was created by a well known Fascist.
I will always cherish the chance of a new beggining.A full third of Spain were well-known Fascists at the time, though. That's what happens when you have a "transition" rather than a "revolution". No-one pays for their crimes.

Chavez said José Aznar was a fascist, less human than snakes, and accused him supporting the 2002 coup against him (of which he had no poof of).
He was deeply in the wrong.
