Rumors? Nope, think we have moved far beyond that if he has been out of the country for surgery and chemo.
Well supposedly there's speculation he gave up Chemo and has been taking Steroids to bolster his reelection chances, and that the tumors might be back.
Many were increasingly of the opinion that they'd all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place. - Douglas AdamsOhh, i find some more tropes for him:
- Aristocrats Are Evil: Invoques this tropes so often, it would be a surprise if he didn´t:
- Chavez: "been rich is evil, its inhuman, its inmoral"
- But, considering how his family lives, this is Hypocrital from his part.
- Chavez: "been rich is evil, its inhuman, its inmoral"
- Crowning Moment Of Awesome: Four words: "¿Porque no te callas?", indeed king, indeed.
- Large Ham: And How! So much it became Parody Fuel.
- Ho Yay: Has a obsession with Fidel Castro, a bit of Squick too. Also with Bolivian President Evo Morales, parodied in the Too Good to Last Web Original series "La Isla Presidencial" (presidential Island)
- Evo: "¡Hugo, Siempre estuve enamorado de ti! (Hugo, i have always been in love whit you!)
- Love It or Hate It
- Friendwiththedevil (ok, i know this trope doesn´t exist, its only i dont find the real trope for this): He is friend with Fidel Castro, Gaddafi (which he considers a Martir) and Kin jon ill before his death. This guy really hates the United States...
- Utopiajustifiesthe Means: subverted, of course. Chavez is not that crazy... we hope.
- Blatant Lies: Before he became president, he told everyone he was not a socialist, was not gonna nationalize Tv channels and/or private companies, and thought he was not necessary for the country. Yeah, lets look at Venezuela now...
- With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: A implied trope to some circles.
- For Happiness: He says he wants Venezuela to be happy, considering how was the country in the Fourth Republic (which he likes to repeat so much) this is a bit justified trope. Possibly his best excuse, like Napoleon Excuse in Animal Farm.
- You dont want Jones to return right?/You dont want to make the Fourth Republic return right?
- Fatand Skinny: He is a bit fat, while his presidential rival Capriles was "El flaco".
- Red Oni: His political party is the red Oni to the oposition.
- Big Fun: This is the way some of his people see him, heck, he SINGS a freaking song to a Fox Reporter.
- Strawman Has a Point: Sometimes.
- Knight Templar: According to the Venezuela Tropes page.
- Misblamed: Theres a lot, from his oposition and him:
- Capriles never call Chavez public workers "Jalabolas", he said he didn´t want any "jalabola" worker, who even Chavez agreed there are. Chavez didn´t get the memo.
- He Banned Violent Videogames because of the game Mercenaries 2, everyone thought it was a attack to his regime... in reality, the Corrupt politician from the videogame looks like everything he is againts. Had a point though, portraying South american people in the game was racist.
- Also, The explosion of Amuay in the game and real life was not a plan of the United States goverment. Its only Harsher in Hindsight.
- When he call Capriles "majunche" and "escualido" he only meant The Oposition leaders, read the Aristocrats are Evil. But, his followers didn´t get this and started to call anyone against The revolution "majunches, escualidos, apatridas, oligarcas y vendepatrias" ("nothing", escualid, stateless, oligarcs, country traitors) But, it seems even Chavez fall for this.
Also, he hopes Barack Obama wins the presidential elections, and to be serious, i hope it too. Romney would provoque six years of Flame wars with him and the united states, and i would not like to see that (Even Evil Has Standards in my case) And remember, im the neutral one.

To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Nitpick: in this context the correct translation would be "we shall win".
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Sorry, i still have flaws with my english.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Well, well, surprise surprise. Theres now two news concerning Chavez and Venezuela.
First, Chavez still have his cancer. He´s in Cuba now.
Second, Venezuela is listed, according to transparency International, as the most corrupt country in Latin America. http://www.transparency.org/cpi2012/results Yes, "Rojita rojita"
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Wow. Speaking as a Dominican (as in, my family is from the Dominican Republic), I'm astonished he beat us out. (Now the PLD is going to take it as a challenge, crap.)
EDIT:Wait, Canada was deemed less corrupt than Germany by that study????

Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.About the PLD: . Oh, yeah.
As someone who's just studied a lot about how precisely Chavez is fucking up the country, I am not surprised at all. It's monstrous, what he's doing, especially because of how he pretends it's all for the sake of the people.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.^ Unfortunately, "for the people" is a goal claimed nearly universally by saints, sinners, and just about everyone in between.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpNot really. Lots of people never hid that they were only in it for themselves, the elites, or their specific narrow clientèle, and still won fine.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Oh just wanted to say about the corruption ranking, it's not based on any actual investigation of corruption. The reason why Canada ranks higher than Germany is because a greater percentage of Canadians surveyed said they thought Canada was not corrupt than people surveyed in Germany. It has nothing to do with actual corruption. So technically, if corruption in Canada was hid very well (this survey was done before the Ontario/Quebec governments fell apart due to corruption just recently), people would perceive themselves to be less corrupt and score higher even if all their money is being pilfered.
But that's only tangentially related to this topic as far as the accuracy of that survey goes.

Abstengámonos de hablar en español en los hilos de conversación; no marginemos a nuestros compañeros troperos. Tropistas? Tropales? Tropicos? (acento grave, no esdrújulo) Tropillos? Tropetes?
EDIT: Tropencos. Me gusta más "tropencos".

Google is my friend.
I... kind of follow Third World events more than most. <shrugs> Having a childhood in a Third World country will do that.

I barely know any Spanish beyond sí, no, hola, gracias, ¡Luchamos para vencer! and ¡No pasarán!
But I vote for tropador. Much cooler than tropenco.
As for Venezuela, I don't really know. It's not exactly Sweden, but there are worse places. From what I've heard, the big problems are huge levels of violent crime and a political system that isn't 100% democratic. But there's no outright dictatorship, no war, no famine... I definitely wouldn't call it 'one of the worst countries'.

Mache dich, mein Herze, rein...Actually "tropador" sounds really lame to a Spanish ear, like some sort of surface technician (i.e. sweeper) or holdover emancipator (i.e. garbage man) or something. "Tropenco" sounds downright like an insult, and was designed as a joke.
Understatement of the year.
Did you see Gangs Of New York and how the elections worked there? That's how democracy is working in Venezuela right now. Vote Early, Vote Often!

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. What dialect do you speak? "Tropador" sounds fine.
I fear that cancer will have to achieve what the Venezuelan opposition cannot. Who might be Chavez' successor should he become to ill to run?
Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.I speak Spaniard Spanish. No me rayes, tío, que a este ritmo no vamos a comer rosca aqui.
It might be interesting to see his opponent in the last elections win. He's a bit of a Young Conqueror. I like his style.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Ah, de España. 'Ta bien, tigre, dejame hablar mi Español y te dejo hablar tuyo.
What's the opposition politics at this point? And do they have the chance to remove Chavez before Juan Carlos tells him off again? Cuz really, I'd like to see that happen one more time.
Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.I always thought that was kind of stupid and undignified. Chavez was scapegoating, but he wasn't wrong, per se.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Well that depends if the rumors about cancer are true or not.
